Mark moved into his new home after working with HSC staff and multiple agencies on the Campus.
Client with Mental Illness
Finds Path to Home at the HSC

Mark C., a U.S. Military Veteran , experienced homelessness for several years due to issues with mental illness. About 7 months ago, Mark began working with our Navigation team at the HSC, who connected Mark with several campus partners including Community Bridges (CBI). While waiting for his housing voucher, Mark was able to get a bed at CBI Bridge. On February 11th, Mark moved into a one-bedroom apartment with wrap-around services to address his specific needs. Mark is very happy to finally be off the streets and in his home!

The collaboration of the HSC staff and several partner agencies at the Campus led to the end of Mark's homelessness after nearly six years!
ELAINE Launches Operations at HSC
New non-profit fills healthcare gap
ELAINE, a new non-profit organization that will help transport men and women experiencing homelessness between hospitals, healthcare appointments and human service providers, has launched operations from its home base on the Human Services Campus. "Our ultimate goal is to reduce healthcare utilization and costs, while most importantly improving patient outcomes," said Vivienne Gellert, founder and president of ELAINE.

"We are thrilled to have ELAINE on our Campus," said Amy Schwabenlender. "Healthcare is a critical component to solving homelessness for many people, and ELAINE fills an important gap." For more information about ELAINE, visit www.elaineaz.org.
