.
Greetings!
The time has finally arrived, after many years of anticipation and preparation we are now in our Centenary Year.
One thing 2021 has in common with 1921 is that like our founding fathers, we find ourselves in difficult times. St. Anne’s was established during the War of Independence whilst now we fight a different kind of battle against a Virus. Who could have imagined that a pandemic would become part of our Centenary “story”?
In true St. Anne’s spirit, we will continue to find ways to celebrate our Centenary virtually until we can all get together to properly mark the occasion. To this end, we have included the first of our interviews with various different members and staff. This month we have the pleasure of hearing from Barry and Paddy Walsh, both long standing members, past Captains and Barry is currently a Trustee. I have no doubt you will thoroughly enjoy their stories about our wonderful club.
Work continues on our celebrations and below you will find an update on what’s been happening in the background.
We look forward to better news regarding our return to golf by the time you get your next Centenary Newsletter, but in the meanwhile, we hope you enjoy the news we have to share with you.
Stay Safe and Stay Fit
