A New Dawn, a New Centenary in St Anne's Golf Club
.
Greetings!

With 2021 rapidly approaching we felt it was a good time to give you an update on some of the exciting plans we have for our Centenary Celebrations in 2021 and also to remind you of some of the initiatives that have already been put in place.

Given that Covid19 will be with us for a while yet, restrictions and best practice will always be taken into consideration in all that we organise, however we have no doubt that we will still be able to successfully celebrate the true Spirit of St Anne’s Golf Club during this very special year in our Club’s history.

We hope that you will join with us in as many of the events as you can and that you will lend us your support in our endeavours to make 2021 a memorable year in St. Anne’s GC.

Audrey Headon
Centenary Coordinator.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
01 Jan 2021 - Captain Leo George and Lady Captain Julie’s Drive In and the official launch of our Centenary Year.
We look forward to welcoming everyone along on New Year's Day to launch, what will hopefully be, a fantastic year of golf and celebrations in the history of St. Anne's Golf Club.

01 Jul 2021 - Inauguration Day.
St. Anne's Golf Club officially opened on the 1st July 1921. We plan on marking this day with a golf competition (with a 1920's twist). Evening celebrations will be decided upon closer to the date when we know what size gatherings are permitted.

7 - 10 Sep 2021 - St. Anne's Golf Club Centenary East Coast Links Tournament.
This will be a four-day tournament played over 3 courses and culminating on the last day with a prize giving in St Anne's GC. This tournament will be open to all members, guests and other golf club’s around Ireland. Details of the tournament will be released shortly.

20 Nov 2021 - Gala Centenary Ball (subject to Covid19 restrictions being lifted)
As we draw near to the end of our year of celebrations, we will have our Centenary Ball in Clontarf Castle Hotel.
Ambassador Program Update

We are delighted to have Mrs Eithne Hayes and Mr Harry Skelton as our Centenary Ambassadors. They, along with their team, will be on hand during the year to enhance both the member and visitor experience in St. Anne’s.

It also gives us great pleasure to announce that the following members have agreed to assist Harry and Eithne in their duties and we would like to thank them for their efforts.

Olivia Whelan, Alice Hutchinson, Chris O Sullivan, Trevor Mills, Paul O Connor and Kevin Burke.

We wish you all the best of luck in your roles.

An Opportunity to become a Centenary Partner

As we are now on the countdown to the start of our Centenary Year 2021, we are looking for potential partners of our celebrations.

We are putting out an appeal to all members who may personally wish to partner or who may work for a company or who know of a company who may wish to join with us as a partner for what will no doubt be a year of wonderful celebration of all that St. Anne’s Golf Club has achieved over the past 100 years.

There are a limited number of partnership opportunities available so if you’d like to discuss this with a committee member please contact one of the committee by email at the link below or by contacting the club's office.

We’d love to hear from you so please get in touch at [email protected] by clicking here.

Memorabilia Appeal

As part of our Centenary year we are planning a dedicated Centenary Room which we hope will feature an eclectic mix of historical photographs, heritage memorabilia, and folklore to give a reminder to our members and visitors of how the Club, and the game of golf, has evolved over the last 100 years in St. Anne’s Golf Links.

To fit out this display we are putting out an appeal to our members for the following items - old photos, old golf clubs, golf accessories, perhaps a very old golf trolley with wired narrow wheels. Anything that will enable us to decorate the Centenary Room with a reflection of times long ago - but hopefully not forgotten.
We will record all items loaned to us and ensure their safe return when the exhibition is finished.

We would like to gather all suitable articles by the end of October so if you feel you may have some suitable memorabilia that is in your attic, or under the stairs or in a shed/garage- dig it out and please bring it along to the clubhouse on Sunday 18th October between 2-5pm where a committee member will be available to accept it. Alternatively, you can contact one of the below committee members to arrange collection.
