A Busy Saco Summer Continues
We've enjoyed seeing Saco's downtown come alive this season. We have the traditional events, like the Classic Car Show, and newer events, like the Jubilee Island Music Series. Learn more below.
12th Annual Classic Car Show by Saco Main Street
More than 100 cars lined both sides of downtown as thousands of people filtered through from early morning to early afternoon.
Jubilee Island Music Series
Join us for a concert series on beautiful Jubilee Island, surrounded by the Saco river and accessible through the covered pedestrian bridge on Water Street. Only one show remains for this season.
The one-acre park is a perfect location for some Sunday evening relaxation while you take in the sounds of area musicians.
While there are a few benches and picnic tables, we encourage you to bring your own seating and snacks. The wide, paved path across the bridge makes this park very accessible to all.
On August 8th we'll have music from Mellogate. Check out their Facebook page here.
This event was created by the City of Saco, Saco Parks & Recreation, Saco Main Street, and the Saco Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

EcoMaine Recycling Tagging Program Aims to Educate and Reduce Fees
You may have seen the ecomaine recycling tagging crew around Saco the past few weeks. Amanda and Kenzie will be here through the summer months performing curbside inspections and providing educational reminders to residents about what is and isn’t recyclable.
During these inspections, ecomaine will tag carts with GREEN tags for a job well done, YELLOW tags for those that need a few changes, and RED tags for contaminated bins.
Each year, the City of Saco pays fees by the pound for contaminated recycling. In fiscal year 2021, these fees totaled $74,194. The tagging program is designed to prevent recycling contamination, avoid additional fees, and educate residents about the importance of recycling correctly. Should your cart be tagged, please feel free to contact ecomaine for guidance on how to dispose of your items. They can be reached at 207-773-1738.
This tagging program complements other educational efforts by Saco Public Works, including direct mail, newspaper ads, and website/social media postings.
