Dear CPC families,
We hope this message finds you well. As we approach the end of the academic year, we wanted to share some important updates and upcoming events with you.
First, congratulations to the Firsties who recently celebrated 100s Weekend! We hope your Cadets enjoyed the weekend and came back to some creative room decorations.
We wanted to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for the successful Valentine's Day Goodie Bag Assembly. We couldn't have done it without you! A special shout-out goes to our dedicated Goodie Bag team who exceeded all expectations once again. We truly appreciate all the hard work and time that each of our volunteers put in to make this program a success.
Also, we would like to give a shout-out to Kim Cheri who has stepped up to fill the vacant Vice-President role. We are very appreciative!
As many of you know, our End of Year Celebration is coming up on April 20th. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the achievements of our cadets. We hope to see you there!
We are also having our Spring General Membership Meeting on April 20th, immediately following the End of Year Celebration.
This is an important event where we will be electing the new CPC Board for the 2024-2025 year. Please join us to get involved in the club's activities for the upcoming year.
Thank you for your continued support of the CPC and our cadets. We hope to see you soon at our upcoming events!
There are many roles still open and we need your help in filling them to keep the club running smoothly!
Elected Board Positions to be filled starting 6/1/24:
- Co-Secretary – We have split this position into two roles. The role we are looking to fill is the Corporate side of managing our club.
- Treasurer - you will maintain the corporate funds and report to the corporation on the status of the corporation finances at our monthly meetings. We utilize QuickBooks Online for our accounting and training will be provided.
- Fundraising Chair - In this capacity you'll be responsible for overseeing the Goodie Bag Chair(s) and any other club fundraising efforts. In addition, you'll be reaching out to our community partners to seek funds for some of our activities (Tailgates, Taste of Home, etc.) and track donations received throughout the year.
Other Positions to be filled:
- I-Day Chair(s) - We are looking forward to again hosting our traditional picnic this year for In-Processing Day for the class 0f 2028. We will need an organized individual (or team) to lead this signature event. This committee chair will work closely with USAFA senior leadership on this joint effort. The I-Day chair leads the team of CPC volunteers to cover everything from food prep and serving, to volunteer coordinating, to the letter writing campaign, etc. We have many of the smaller committees already filled with the chair for that specific committee. This is a great opportunity to shadow this year to learn the role.
- Parents’ Weekend Chair – we host a table at the Arnold Hall Information Fair and we need someone to manage the volunteers to get families excited for our goodie bags for purchase.
We are also interested in forming a Goodie Bag Committee under our Goodie Bag Chair, Lauralee Hitzler to accomplish the large task of getting the goodie bags and assembled three times each year:
- Logistics Chair - ordering items, product delivery confirmation and receipt of those items, inventory and storage coordination
- Marketing Chair - this would include implementing our marketing plan for sending out our advertising to purchase the goodie orders.
-
Please reach out to goodieorders@usafacpc.org with any questions on how you can assist the Goodie Bag Team.
Please contact the President’s for more information or to volunteer for any of these positions.
We look forward to working with you to help enrich the Academy experience of our cadets!
Danny & Kathy Cometto,
USAFA CPC Co-Presidents
