This year, more than ever before, labeling your child's items is critical. Labeling all of the items that come into the school helps to prevent the spread of germs by ensuring lookalike items do not get mixed up.

We cannot wait to celebrate our Veterans on Wednesday, November 11 at 10:00am. While our program will be different this year, we will still be celebrating with a drive-thru parade! Please let us know if you and/or a relative are a Veteran and will be attending our drive-thru parade.

Did you know your child can take AR tests from home, 7 days a week? Here is a short instructional video on the process. This is the link to the AR site. You cannot do a google search for AR; our site is specific to our school. Students have a unique username and password. If your child does not know theirs, please email the school librarian, Mrs. McIntyre.

We appreciate your help to keep everyone safe in carline. Please do not allow students to exit the car until adults are present at 8:30am. Students should not be waiting by the door. (All carline cars should line up on Dogwood Rd and wait until 8:30am. to begin entering the DES back circle.)

Thank you for working with teachers to help support students who are working from home. If your child is doing distance learning for several days or everyday, please make sure to communicate with the teacher about the work they are completing. Teachers are posting the required instruction and assignments in Schoology. In order for students to be present, teachers must confirm that students have completed school work (examples- email, NearPod, Seesaw post, watched instructional videos, attended a zoom...) Please email Mrs. Phipps if you have any questions. 

Because we are having events from a distance this year, we need your help to gather your best images for this year’s yearbook. Please email your top 10 images to the yearbook staff. Please be sure to include the grade, teacher's name, and event in the email.

The Germantown Police Department is seeking to hire four new school crossing guards. The position will require the applicant to work two to four hours per day in an outdoor environment. The position is part time seasonal work and pays $13.25 per hour. The online portal for families to select virtual or in-person learning for the second semester opened on October 26th and will close on November 9th.

The Germantown Education Commission honors a teacher and student each month during the school year. Winners are selected from those nominated by parents, students, teachers or school administrators. Youth Excellence Award winners must be a high school senior living in Germantown but can attend any school. Teacher of the Month award winners must teach in a public or private school within Germantown. Awards are presented monthly during meetings of the Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Sponsors are invited to participate in the award presentation.
