S.T.A.R. Awards

It is time once again for GMC PTO S.T.A.R. nominations. DES has three recipients of the STAR award. They can be DES Staff or DES Volunteers. We also nominate a recipient for the Legacy Award who must be a volunteer.

The GMC PTO honors individuals who exemplify the S.T.A.R. attributes:  Service to Schools Time and Talents Invested, Active Involvement, Results Oriented and thus demonstrate exceptional dedication and service to their schools. The S.T.A.R. nominee is kind and caring, brings out the best in others, and exemplifies the four criteria of the of the S.T.A.R. Award.

The Legacy award is awarded to one person each year across the district and should be a parent volunteer who embodies the qualities of kindness, selflessness, and work ethic - qualities exhibited by the late, Kristen Ames Melton.

Please submit any nominations to Holly Kulp February 5, 2021. Please include the nominee's name, position (if applicable), and a brief reason for his/her nomination. Last year’s DES recipients were: Dana Guntharp, Angela Martin, and Sue Rho.
