EFCA West Celebrations!
EFCA Ordination

In our April Zipline we celebrated Howard Grobstein obtaining his EFCA Certificate of Ordination. Howard brings the good news of Jesus to the deaf of Mexico. We'd like to share his EFCA Ordination Prayer "COVID-19 Style" with you. Please follow the link .
EFCA Vocational Ministry License

Kevin Mason is from Tucson, AZ. He's been a Youth Pastor a t Hope Community Church for the last 3 years. His wife, Michelle, is a nurse and they have three beautiful girls, Madelyn (11), Emersyn (3), and Ella (1). They are excited to celebrate their 5th anniversary this summer!

"Being in ministry is so great! What a blessing to be a part of expanding and encouraging God’s Kingdom. I wanted to encourage everyone to pursue credentialing. My journey to get licensed has sharpened me and encouraged me to be more like Jesus in my ministry. It is my prayer that all EFCA church leaders experience that same encouragement. Keep pursuing in the Lord in all that you!" -Pastor Kevin
Blind Spots
Unknown unknowns are blind spots, and blind spots can get us. Leaders cannot address issues they cannot or do not see and, if we are not careful, we can hurt those who are following us as well as the mission we are pursuing when we don’t account for our blind spots. For church leaders, minimizing our blind spots, looking for and uncovering our unknown unknowns, is something to talk about .

Bob Osborne
Director of Church Health
In February 2020, EFCA pastors and church leaders gathered at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, for the annual Theology Conference. The focus was on the theme “Contending for the Faith – 7 Critical Contemporary Doctrinal Challenges: A Biblical, Theological and Pastoral Response.”

Steve serves as professor of Christian theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and editor of The Southern Baptist Journal of Theology .

President Kompelien and members of the EFCA Board of Directors invite us to an online prayer gathering on June 10 (5pm PDT, 6pm MDT) .

Trauma Care Training

Crisis Response Ministry , is providing Trauma Care Training to churches around the country.

Trauma Care training helps individuals understand the basics of trauma. This training helps people to understand the potential impacts of Covid-19 and other crisis events. It equips individuals, churches and christian ministries to come alongside hurting people by applying Biblical principles and sharing the hope of Christ.

If you are interested in scheduling a training session, or if you have questions or if you would like to discuss the training program in more detail, email steve.smeltzer@efca.org
