Politics, the Church and the 2020 Election
with Larry Osborne
As if everything else this year has brought is not enough, we are now careening into one of the most divisive presidential elections of our time and it already feels like a powder keg! So what should we do as church leaders? How do we help the people in our churches be content with Jesus on the throne no matter the outcome? What strategy should we employ to preserve unity and at the same time speak truth and offer wisdom during these contentious final weeks? Join us as Larry Osborne will talk to us about what he has learned over the years and how the team at North Coast plans to lead through the 2020 election.
Andrew Hoffman on the new "Reach Network" and the serious church planting effort EFCA is launching

Believe it or not, there was a time when the church you are in now was nothing more than a dream in someone's mind! But whoever it was that started it could never have done it alone - others had to help. In fact, the EFCA itself started as a church planting movement. Even our mission statement begins with the word "Multiply." So in this episode, Andrew Hoffman, EFCA Director of Church Multiplication, walks us through how church planting leaders from across the nation have come together to produce the Reach Network: the most strategic national church planting effort in decades for the EFCA.
EFCA West District Conference

Our District Conference is still on the calendar. We're all in need of a time away from the Covid-19 routine to gather together as leaders and members of EFCA West churches to celebrate, collaborate, learn and look to the future together.

Please mark these dates on your calendar and let other leaders in your congregation know as well. To register please visit our website efcawest2021.com
SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT
Clarity Is Our Friend
Have you ever seen a fire alarm box bearing the words, “In case of fire break glass?” Really? So when someone spots a fire their job is to break this little piece of glass? Isn’t there something else they should do? Sometimes we leaders fail to communicate clearly what we want those we are leading to actually do.

In this month’s article, EFCA West Director of Church Health Bob Osborne suggests some areas where we may want to ensure that those we lead know what we want them to do. Bob’s most-repeated phrase among the EFCA West team is “clarity is our friend.” Making clarity your friend is something to talk about

Hear the Word
A ReachStudents Podcast
At Challenge Conference, the EFCA launched "Hear the Word": a daily, five-minute devotional podcast for students including Scripture and prayer that comes out every weekday. It has been a hit with students and leaders, reaching #21 in Apple podcasts’ religion category. Through this podcast, students are reminded of the goodness of Jesus in their everyday life.

Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. Utilize the podcast personally or invite your students to join with you and listen “together” for a month. Hear the Word is also available in Spanish as “Escucha la Palabra.”
"Thank you so much for your prayers. Our EFCA churches in the area have not sustained any damage and it appears that there was minimal damage in their communities. Please keep the people in Lake Charles in your prayers as this area took the brunt of the storm."

A Home for Danielle
Pinetop-Lakeside AZ
Read the full story here on why Nova Community Church in Torrance CA and Hope Community Church in Tucson AZ came together to build a home for Danielle.

This project is still in the makings, if your church would like to get involved please contact Joseph Brock.
“Dean, thanks for sending the NOVA missions team from Torrance.  We were so blessed this weekend and were all amazed that the foundation was poured and first part of the walls were built.  I think some lasting friendships were formed and that was my hope. It was sad to see people leave and that is always a great sign.”
