Deadline: Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 by 11:59 PM
Since announcing the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Stabilization Grant funding, the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) received an overwhelming number of successfully submitted applications from eligible child care providers. There is still time to apply for this opportunity!
The final deadline for completed applications is Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 by 11:59 PM.
OCDEL is issuing this announcement with the that hope if you are a staff member of a child care program, you will share this information with the appropriate colleague at any upcoming meetings or opportunities you may have in the next 10 days. You may be the person who shines a light on this opportunity for someone who might be disconnected from our normal communication channels.
Directors, owners, administrators and/or designated fiscal staff members that access the Professional Development (PD) Registry (papdregistry.org) for their eligible program should log into their account, go to the Keystone STARS/Grants tab in their organization’s profile and begin the application process.
Thank you,
OCDEL

What is Continuity of Care? (COC)
“What is the most important thing you would wish for all children?” the late Dr. Sally Provence, Professor Emeritus at Yale University’s Child Study Unit, was once asked. Her answer: “Continuity of care from birth to three years old.”
When the new Keystone STARS Program Performance Standards came out offering ‘points’ for an early childhood program that practices continuity of care, FC 3.4.3, many in the childcare field were scratching their heads and asking, “what is that?” and “I think we do that?”
Let’s look at the quality indicator, FC 3.4.3, create a clear definition of continuity of care, and state how it benefits children and programs. Let’s discover what it may look like in various programs.
