The Career Closet Expands

with the Addition of the Scrub Shop!

We are excited to share that Student Affairs and the School of Nursing collaborated to create the Scrub Shop, which is located in the Career Closet. You can find it in the lower level of the Mary Dooley College Center. The Career Closet contains free professional clothing for Elms College students for interviews, jobs, or internships. Now, Elms College students have the opportunity to obtain Elms Clinical Scrubs or regular scrubs for their employment. This fall the Scrub Shop has been very successful and students have been very appreciative about obtaining scrubs donated by alumni and community members. The Dean of Students Office always accepts donations of professional clothing and now scrubs. We are excited to expand these resources for students even further over the coming year!

Contact studentaffairs@elms.edu or call the Dean of Students Office at 413-265-2210 for any questions. Pictured below Terry Kinsley (left), Assistant Clinical Professor, School of Nursing and Teresa Winters (right), Dean of Students in Student Affairs.

Alumni Spotlight

Another Summer in Martha's Vineyard in the Books

Claire Stratton '24 and Pia Mendoza '24 spent their summer gaining experience for their future with alumna Martha Riley-Bischoff '87 in Martha's Vineyard. Throughout the summer, they spent their time working alongside nurses at Martha's Vineyard Hospital, a critical access, not-for-profit community hospital providing care for residents of the island and hundreds of thousands of visitors. Martha arranged for two paid internships for Elms nursing students. She said it was her way of repaying the college for launching her nursing career. Claire and Pia spoke at our annual Cape Cod luncheon. They said this experience changed their lives, and they can't wait to officially become nurses.
