Too many young people leave school unprepared for the biggest game of all...life. At Junior Achievement, we are leveling the playing field by helping young people gain critical life skills in financial literacy, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship. But we can't do it alone. We need your help. Be a game changer by becoming a JA volunteer.

Pilot Partnership with Mastery Charter Schools and Kaplan
This spring we have partnered with Mastery Charter Schools and Kaplan Learning for a pilot of the JA SIE Scholars Program. Through this program, fifteen young adults ages 18-25 from the Mastery Network have attended weekly Kaplan sessions and spent time studying and preparing to sit for the SIE exam at the end of May.
After scholars pass the exam, they will interview with a JA employer partner for an SIE role. Over the past month, the scholars have attended informational meetings with Vanguard and Lincoln Investment to learn more about career paths and opportunities.
We are so proud of this group of scholars for taking a huge next step toward their future!
When asked “Why did you enroll to be a JA SIE Scholar?”, a scholar shared, “I was looking to try something new in my career and this opportunity came up at the perfect time. I am excited to see where it can take me if I work hard enough.”

“The results of the [2023 JA Teens & Personal Finance] survey (http://ow.ly/KPjX50NYtJi) highlights the fact that young people are defining the future of work, a reality we see locally," said Stephanie Gambone, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Southeastern PA.
"We also hear from young people that they are concerned about the rising costs that impact daily life, including higher education. Junior Achievement of Southeastern PA is committed to ensuring young people have a strong understanding of personal finances, develop an entrepreneurial mindset and understand the variety of career options available to them. We work with #partners like Citizens to ensure young people across the region have access to quality learning experiences connected to their lifelong career goals.”
