In the Gallery:
Splash of Color
There is a really wonderful show up in the gallery right now, and it pained us to have to postpone the opening reception and close the gallery while we all practice healthy spacing. The board's current hope is to extend this show - keep checking our webpage and Facebook for updates as this new reality of our lives continues to unfold.

Jeanne Havran, a watercolorist originally from Rockport, Massachusetts and now a new Portsmouth resident, is the spotlight artist for this “Splash of Color” exhibit which started on March 12. Her seascapes, florals, and street scenes are characteristically filled with a dynamic mix of color, light, and movement using a self-described “airy and loose” painting style.
What's Going On?
Glad you asked. Unfortunately, a lot of the answers sound like "We don't really know." That's the case for your perfectly good questions like, "When is the gallery going to reopen?" "How long will the current show be extended?" When will we pick up our work from 'Splash of Color?" "What's the impact of this current hiatus on the rest of this year's show schedule?" All we can offer at this point is "STAY TUNED!"

However, there are a few things we do know.

  • In these virtual tours, you can pause along the way for a longer look at the art that captures your attention, and can see the details on the artist, title, price, etc.

  • If you'd like a closer look at something, or wish to buy a piece, please email or call the gallery and we can possibly arrange a safely spaced ivewing and transaction.

  • Many of our events have already been rescheduled for the fall!

  • Kate Zamarchi is available to help you set up your Artist Member page - email her here. Details on the webpage...

  • If you haven't renewed your 2020 membership yet, doing so at this time would be of great benefit to your local art association!
Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.

Google Arts & Culture has put together a virtural tour of some of the world's best museums. Revisit the ones you may have visited and check out the ones you only wish you had!

Also, this might be a terrific time to learn a new art skill during these times at home. Here is a link that has some great tutorials from other artists.
