KID Auxiliary Newsletter

We are a dedicated group of volunteers committed to helping over 20,000 children and families served by Kids in Distress (KID) in South Florida.

Our fundraising efforts support programs provided by KID, including education, prevention, foster care, and family strengthening.

As ambassadors in the community, we raise awareness for the children

in foster care and the family services KID provides in the tri-county area.

Our KID Auxiliary Board and Brush event was amazing!

We had so much fun crafting projects and meeting old and new members wo care about the kids we serve. We are looking forward to a fabulous year of giving back to the community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success.

Publix Food Drives

KHK volunteers collected 31 bags and $2,094 in cash and gift cards in both Publix locations during the drives on Oct 21 (Weston and Cooper City). Thank you to all parents and students who went above and beyond passing out the “shopping list” and promoting our campaign to the

Publix customers. Great job!!

American Heritage KHK Club

American Heritage KHK Club food drive on Oct 28 was a huge success! We collected 542 bags and $10,983 in cash and gift cards. Thank you to all volunteers for the hard work and the AHS families and staff for your generosity and support to our campaign. Shout out to KHK volunteer Sam Rattner who created a QR code for the donors to enter the donated bags to get their service hours, which made the process much faster and smooth.

Halloween party

Thank you La Torretta and Lady Baker,

for providing yummy Italian food and desserts.

KID children did trick or treating and had lots of fun with different activities provided by our volunteers.

Thank you KHK volunteer Vera Danzig, Sam Danzig

and Noah Abel for putting together a

spooktacular trick or treating path.

The children also had a fun movement activity with the children’s yoga therapist Sandra Flores.

Thank you Cristina Salgado, Juliana Buzzatti and Danielle Rocha for coordinating this amazing Halloween party.

Horticulture Project

Shout out to KHK volunteers Yana Danzig and Cory Sands for coordinating the construction of veggie beds at the SW Ranches campus! They got sponsorship from Home Depot which provided soil for the beds. Thank you to the Rotary and 4H Monarchs for their support as well. The KID children had lots of fun and learned about healthy food while planting the veggies with our volunteers.
