OPERATION GRATITUDE
MARCH 18, 2023
Chatsworth Kiwanis supported Operation Gratitude by cooking burgers for other volunteers who packaged 5,000 care packages for our troops.
Operation Gratitude volunteers, partners, supporters, and staff reflect incredible generosity, passion, gratitude, and patriotism. They have contributed their time, skills, and resources to deliver Care Packages to everyone who has raised their hand to serve, to show them the American people care about their service. These Care Packages will offer a small reminder to servicemen and women that Americans across the nation support them and appreciate their service and sacrifice.

Chatsworth BlockFest 2023
SATURDAY, APRIL 15 - 10AM to 6PM
BLOCKFEST is an outdoor celebration for the community and local businesses with something for everyone! The street festival took place on Devonshire Street, it included two city blocks of 150+ vendors selling their wares, a carnival, live DJ, a cocktail lounge, famous show cars, and LIVE professional wrestling! Hosted by the Chatsworth Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce.
Chatsworth Kiwanis Club hosted a booth at this event and sponsored the cocktail lounge serving beer, wine and margaritas. This lounge was very popular and actually ran out of beer at 5PM which made it easier to give "last call" for sure. Thanks to Bree, Kelly, Nick, Tim and Lucia for providing the visitors with a fun experience in the lounge.
The attendance was far more than the first year and the event was much larger.

Charity Golf Tournament
MONDAY, APRIL 24, 2023
| |
|
The annual GOLF TOURNAMENT held at the Moorpark Country Club was again a very successful and fun event.
Set up was really early for the volunteers from Kiwanis - setting up registration table, T-shirt and gift bag giveaways, raffle basket tables, complimentary breakfast bar, Bloody Mary bar and the organization of the golf carts and teams...it is a coordinated and all-team event.
The golfers reported in and got their shirt, gift bag, raffle tickets and proceeded to the breakfast and Bloody Mary bar on the patio. They checked their golf bags at the clubhouse they were then transported to their golf carts.
It was quite a scene to see the carts take off to their starting holes... where at every other hole there were libations, cigars, water and snacks to tide them over until lunch which was served by the country club in the banquet room (Kiwanis has provided this in the past, but decided that it is so much work - let's try it out this way).
At lunch, the golfers were awarded their places in the tournament, presentation of awards and the raffle - and results of the silent auction results were announced.
Another successful event in the books...a great fundraiser for Chatsworth Kiwanis as well.

| |
The Chatsworth Community Coordinating Council has an annual banquet (though during Covid they could not) to honor citizens of Chatsworth for all that they do for the community. It is also a chance for organizations to honor their volunteers who are outstanding and deserving.
Several Kiwanis were honored: Volunteers Cleaning Communities awarded our very own Kathie Donner with a service certificate for her dedication to cleaning communities in the SFV.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Our club president Lucia and husband Nicolas Montaño were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Councilmember John Lee and the Chatsworth Community Coordinating Council President Jelena Csanyi.
The Montaño's have been serving the Chatsworth community for over three decades as business owners and through their generous hours of dedicated work in Kiwanis.
