St. Patrick's Day was celebrated early this past Thursday as a special dress-up day. While students got to enjoy the costuming, they also were exposed to the real story of the man, the early missionary, who was enslaved from England, but who later evangelized the Irish.

For Elementary and secondary families: an international event

CROSS-CULTURAL MISSIONS NIGHT

Thursday started a week-long, Easter season missions focus.

It began with the annual elementary St. Patrick's Day dress up event and it continues for secondary students and staff this week, culminating in Friday's academy-wide missions night.

Fri, Mar. 22nd -- 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at LPA campus. Final student pick-up at 8:00.

All K5-12th grade students and their parents, staff, and teachers are invited!

The 6th grade history book has a complete lesson on Patrick, his kidnapping and slavery, and his call call to return to Ireland to preach the Gospel.

-Prayer to the Lord of the Harvest for various mission fields, near and far

-A rotation of rooms decorated to reflect the decoration and garb of various world cultures

-Hear and perhaps taste about these cultures from room hosts. Note: taste test sized food in some rooms will not make a meal. Eat dinner first.

Going up!

Middle grades students are elevated

Friday, current 5th and 6th grade students and their parents were on campus for peek at how the secondary program operates and appears.

An "air of super-games"

Mr. Miller and student leaders set up a 65-foot long "human foosball" inflatable game so that the visiting students could form teams and mix with the older students in soccer

Sixth grade boys held their foosball bar and held their own in the tournament.

Students receive T-shirts, while parents enjoy come conversation nearby.

Is it Daylight Savings Time?

Maybe it should be called darkness savings time, since the nighttime seems to be extended until past 7:00 a.m. these days.

Here, the morning safety drive around the campus perimeter requires a flashlight!

Give thanks in all circumstances;

for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Grateful this week for...

The servant-minded!

Helpful hands!

Traffic is usually associated with cars and trucks, but in terms of buildings, hotels, or campuses, traffic refers to the multiple touches and hand and foot prints that occur, in addition to movement of items and trash.

Since so many students and staff members bustle through each day, in the alternating day format, there is much traffic. We're grateful for the students who assist to keep an orderly campus, and for the staff and parent who model this service well.

It's just around the corner...

All set for Tuesday's game

The girls varsity soccer season stands with old phrase... won one, lost one, and one got rained out. After holding a tough Greenville Classical team scoreless at half-time, the Mariners gave up some goals for a loss. The good news is that the season affords a rematch in a few weeks.

Friday's game against Westminster-Catawba was rained out.

Why we play soccer

Since it is played in virtually every nation and culture, soccer is a super evangelical sports tool and conversation starter. Futbol!
