Grateful for the Bells

Below: The Navy ship's bell donated for building "Mariner" traditions at the academy.

Singing and ringing, loud and clear

When elementary students gather again this week, there will be two bells in the house. Pastor Jon Bell will continue his faithful opening of the day, leading Lake Pointe's youngest pupils in God's Word and song. Grateful!

And there will also be another type of bell, one that likely graced a World War II U.S. Navy ship. Over the break, a gentleman from the northeast with ties to the Navy Seals heard about Lake Pointe's posting for "nautical" items to help put Mariner touches on the new gym and campus.

He donated the heavy artifact, hoping that it can be rung at sporting events and special occasions, to build traditions and to inspire students to the courage and excellence under which the bell first rang.

The antique will be cleaned and fitted with mounting hardware before being shipped to the campus. It will be in place for the coming new year. Grateful!

It's just around the corner...

This week: PSAT testing for grades 9 & 10

Next weekend: Secondary high school spring formal

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

What 2019 felt like.

After 2020.

Powerful internet network, large screens, streaming and recording, cameras, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, internet protections, and a collection of student classroom laptops. And Mr. Goodwin, who is also powerfully direct.

Thank you for providing, Lord Jesus!

Final laps of the year

Students will be back in the classroom this week.

With only six weeks remaining, all the learning will be coming to crescendo for the year.

Around campus

No bones about it

Senior Luke DeSa and the rest of the Class of 2024 are marking memories as they close out their Lake Pointe career. Here, that means even bonding with the anatomy course skeleton.

Don't blink... it goes quickly

At the other end of the academic grade levels, his mother, elementary leader Mrs. DeSa, assesses the skills and personalities of Lake Pointe's newest kindergartners.

One of the amazing privileges at a K-12 school is getting to watch students develop from crayons and huge lined paper to laptops and college applications.

Lake Pointe teams played a variety of private, public, and charter schools this year.

Won't be long!

The recess "farm team" pipeline is already set to fill the varsity players' shoes in coming years!
