Storyteller Antonio Rocha will be ZOOM-ing in from Maine! Come to the library, or watch from home, as he takes us on a trip through our imaginations! 

Take a wild trip into the jungles of South America and Africa. Antonio draws from his repertoire of animal tales with an ecological theme. With his unique fusion of spoken word and mime, Antonio presents a one of a kind performance with a myriad of fantastical sound effects, some hilarious characters, and his signature mime illusions.

Flap your wings, jump up and down like five little monkeys jumping on the bed, and roar like a polar bear! This performance celebrates famous children’s stories and songs about animals including a few written by adults on the autism spectrum! The show will also celebrate biodiversity – the more wild our planet is the healthier it is! Kids will dance, sing, laugh, use their imaginations and connect with new friends.

Campers will be having fun with new friends as they create sand castles using air-dry clay, real sand and a variety of other art media. Over the course of four days the campers will explore and learn basic hand building and sculpting techniques to create these fun clay sculptures.

In this workshop facilitated by local artist Rita Healey, participants will discuss Matisse and Rita will demonstrate how to make a silkscreen of one of his famous window pictures found in Tangiers. Participants then will emboss their print and paint it with watercolors, using a very bright palate.

  • Friends is now selling NEW children’s books, movies, music CDs, and paperback books in front of the Just Between Friends Shop located inside the library.
  • WE NEED HELP!!! The Friends are seeking volunteers to help in the Shop to sort and price books. If interested in volunteering, contact the Friends.

Friends is able to accept up to 10 donated books per person. Due to volunteer and space limitations, this donation limit will be in effect for the near term. Thank you for understanding.
