Meet our Volunteer of the Month | Sandy Ahn
I began volunteering at the Lewes Public Library in January of 2012 and have assisted with Transit, Pre-opening, Circulation Desk, Book Sale, and other volunteer opportunities, as needed.
My previous experience with volunteering at a small library, in Pennsylvania, couldn’t be any more different, as it was primarily a place to borrow books and do research. The Lewes Public Library is a true hub of the community, providing a multitude of services, and shared experiences, all while promoting literacy and a love for reading for every age.
My favorite volunteer moment was a few years ago at the Lewes Public Library Community Carnival. I was able to combine my volunteer responsibilities at the library with my other passion, animal rescue. As a volunteer for the Delaware Humane Association, I was able to introduce both children and adults, to a few of our adoptable dogs. The dogs loved the attention and all the extra treats!
