Join us for a live online conversation with bestselling author and actor Candace Cameron Bure, as she talks about her latest children's picture book, Candace's Playful Puppy. This book (ages 4 - 8 years) is for every boy or girl who has ever wanted a dog and every parent who knows the responsibility that goes along with caring for a new pet. Joining Candace in conversation is Madeleine Overturf, broadcast journalist at WRDE Coast TV, the Delmarva peninsula’s NBC affiliate.

Join local children’s book author, Ilona E. Holland, as she introduces her latest book, The Great Explosion: A Powder Mill Chronicle, the story of the courage of the DuPont children as they escape the Great Explosion of 1818. It is based on a firsthand account and has much informational back matter about life on the Brandywine in the 19th century. Dr. Holland will share how the book came into being as well as behind-the-scenes images of both inspiration and historical fact. She will read the book pausing to point out “secrets”, explaining the nonfiction backmatter, and sharing primary source materials.

We'll go straight to the heart of the matter as we explore the inner-workings of one of the most fascinating muscles in our body - the heart. After discovering how the heart pumps, we'll create a heart model and make samples of blood demonstrating cells, platelets and plasma for humans AND frogs.
