Meet our Volunteer of the Month: Janet Wilson
I started volunteering with the Friends back in 2015, and became a volunteer cashier in the Friends Shop in 2016. During the pandemic I missed volunteering so much that when the library re-opened first I became a transit volunteer and then after a while I added circulation volunteer. I continue to sub at the Friends Shop and help out at the book sales.
I have to admit that I had no idea how much a part of the community the library is. There are so many wonderful programs to assist people, educate people, and be there for whatever anyone might need. The programs for the children and young adults are un-parallel in my view.
I don’t know that I have one favorite moment, but I have a lot of little moments that add up. I have always been an avid reader and in retirement it gives me great pleasure to volunteer at my local library.
