Meet our Volunteer of the Month: Claire Hickey
I started to volunteer in the library in 2013. It was quite a change from my experience on Cape Cod when I volunteered for 15 years at the 100 year old Chase Library where the Dewey decimal system was still in use, and newly purchased books were recorded in a ledger.
The Lewes Public Library is a revelation featuring an attractive, comfortable and inviting setting. The knowledgeable staff is always very helpful and the many different programs, meeting rooms, study rooms that the library offers are wonderful. I also enjoy working with other volunteers and the comradery that we share each week catching up on each other’s families is lovely.
I have always enjoyed helping someone find books of a special interest, either novels, mysteries or non-fiction.
