Meet our Volunteer of the Month: Wendy McConnell
Not sure how long I have been volunteering, but I started in the old library. I volunteered first in the children’s room and then moved to transit.
My experience with libraries had always been checking out books, reading magazines and doing research. It was when I started volunteering that I realized how much more goes on there. I had no idea of the variety of items the library offers for checkout - much more than just books. And with all the programs offered, groups to join, workshops to participate in and much more, the Lewes library is truly a community treasure.
My favorite moment is actually lots of moments. It’s those times when another volunteer or staff member recommends a book they read and loved or heard about. I love being part of a community of book lovers.
