Our Summer camping and vacation season wrapped up with the Webelos Woods campout at Marin-Sierra over the Labor Day holiday weekend. The Council calendar is filling up again for Fall so let's keep the "Outing" in our Scouting by supporting all the great activities here in beautiful Marin! Look through our monthly newsletter and find out how you can be involved in fun programs and new opportunities for Scouts and leaders in the coming months. You'll find more event information below or on our Marin Council online calendar here!

Council Roundtable Meeting --- 7:30pm Thursday, September 5

Unit leaders, don't forget to assign someone from your Pack, Troop or Crew to attend the first monthly Roundtable meeting of the new school year! This gathering via ZOOM will start at 7:30pm sharp with opening ceremony and brief announcements for all program volunteers together. The Scouts BSA group will then go into their own break-out session.

Please forward this ZOOM link invitation to other Scouters and parents in your local packs, troops and crews to make sure every unit is represented for all the information sharing and Scouting fellowship!

What's New at the Marin Council Trading Post?

Marin County Ember Stomp --- Saturday, September 7

Join Marin County Fire Department and other emergency response agencies at our 3rd annual "Ember Stomp" Wildfire Safety Festival this Saturday at the Marin County Fairgrounds near the Civic Center. This large outdoor event is a great opportunity to teach our Scouting families about wildfire safety and preparedness right from the professionals responsible for assisting with emergencies in Marin. See you there!

CA Coastal Clean-up Day --- Saturday, September 21

The 40th annual California Coastal Clean-up Day will take place Saturday, September 21 from 9am to 12noon. This is the largest volunteer event across the country, and there are more than 50 unique sites in Marin County alone including beaches, rocky shores, creeks, marches and more! All locations could use the help of our Scouting youth and adult volunteers from your Pack or Troop!


Margaret Farley, Committee Chair for San Anselmo Troop 50 is the County of Marin Coastal Clean-up Coordinator again this year! Sign up your volunteer group by clicking this link to view the Marin County map locations for project sites! There will be a free BBQ lunch for all volunteers held afterward at the San Francisco Bay Model Museum in Sausalito!

Scouts BSA Fall Camporee @ Tamarancho --- October 4-6

Save the Date for this fun annual campout! Hike up to Tamarancho for the Tamaranchorympics! We'll have a Saturday morning of fun competition followed by an afternoon of training by learning and following the Trail to First Class. Knock off some of those pesky requirements or learn new skills for your unit! Start your Fall camping program off right. Registration and details will be forthcoming soon!

Annual "Scouting for Food" Community Food Drive

A staggering one-in-five of your Marin County neighbors was in need of food assistance during this past year! Join Marin Council unit volunteers for our annual door-to-door community service campaign throughout assigned neighborhoods to pick-up food donations and transport them to the SF-Marin Food Bank in San Rafael. A Monthly News Bulletin for OA Lodge Members

Talako Lodge is thrilled to welcome everyone back from the Summer break at our recent August Lodge meeting! Our small lodge made a strong showing at the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) in Boulder, Colorado where our Ceremonies Team participants were nationally-honored for their outstanding performance! We’ve captured the highlights of NOAC in this video that you don't want to miss!


Upcoming we have our monthly lodge meeting on Tuesday, September 10 at the Elks Lodge in San Rafael, and the annual Section Conclave at Camp Royaneh on the weekend of September 13-15. Make sure to sign up and be a part of the excitement. We can’t wait to reconnect and see you all there!
