Aer Lingus has announced plans to offer 20MB of free wifi to its Smart Fare transatlantic economy customers, and will also reintroduce complimentary refreshments for economy passengers. The introduction of the Airbus A321LR to the Aer Lingus fleet on both transatlantic and European routes, a move which will see fully flat business class seating offered on selected short-haul routes.
Aer Lingus unveiled its new logo and livery at an event in Dublin this month. CEO Sean Doyle spoke about the airline’s ambition to become a leading value carrier on transatlantic routes.
The Irish flag carrier last rebranded more than 20 years ago. The new livery, which debuted on an A330, features four shamrocks and a primarily white and teal colour scheme. ‘Aer Lingus’ is written in a new font, and the shamrock logo has been redesigned to feature heart-shaped leaves. The airline said the teal undercarriage would be instantly recognisable from the ground.
