Greetings!
Summer has definitely arrived! I hope you are finding ways to stay cool and healthy in this heat. We each need to remember to make time to relax and find some happiness as part of our personal wellness plan. I'm grateful to have good friends who invite me to share some time on their boat, some laughs, and quality time with their dog ... of course, with plenty of sunscreen on. That fresh air is almost as good for the soul as my time helping the patients at New Hope Clinic. It can be heart-wrenching to hear all the struggles a patient has faced, but with that information, we work together with the patient to find a healthier tomorrow for them. While we focus on improving health, we are so fortunate to have great community partners to connect our patients with for their non-healthcare needs.
The crew at the Clinic has also been busy learning new computer systems, training new volunteers, tracking patient health outcomes, and gearing up for our two fall fundraisers, amongst lots of other good works. Keep reading to learn more about all you make possible.
Thanks for all you do to support New Hope Clinic and the health of our community!

Meet volunteer Peter Hanna, DDS
Dr. Hanna is a graduate of Georgetown Dental School. He served two years in the Air Force as a dentist, then worked in private practice in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Upon retiring and moving to St. James in 2019, Dr. Hanna wanted to stay active and give back so he got his volunteer Dentist license in North Carolina and joined New Hope Clinic as a volunteer. Thank you to Dr. Hanna and all our other dentists and dental assistants. We provided dental services valued at $59,184 during 153 dental visits in 2021.

Meet Shannon!

She and her husband recently moved to Brunswick County after practicing in the Charlotte area for the past 16 years. Thank you for all your support
St James Service Club
The St James Service Club had the honor to present grants from this fiscal year’s fundraising efforts to 21 Brunswick County Nonprofits and scholarships to 2 Brunswick County High School seniors. It was quite humbling to hear about the community support these nonprofits continuously give to Brunswick County. We cannot thank our St James Service Club members and the St James Plantation residents enough for your continued support to make these grants possible.
