A NOTE FROM NILS
We are looking forward to having everyone back in the building on Monday, Jan. 4!!

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication during this time of full remote learning. We realize this new environment presented many challenges. Thank you also to our staff for all of their hard work and dedication in providing high quality learning opportunities in this setting.

As we return to school, our top priority is to keep everyone safe. The Together 4 Tomorrow guidelines including social distancing and wearing masks that were in place prior to remote will continue.  

Another reminder: parents must remain in their vehicles when at school. If you need to pick up your child during the school day for an appointment, please park in the middle section of the west parking lot and enter through the office area. Parking on the east side is for staff only.

If you will be dropping off your child or picking up your child, please continue to use our newly installed parent connection zone by entering on Academy Street near Complete High School. Please pull forward as much as possible. We can unload and load up to 18 vehicles at a time if everyone pulls up.

Anyone who is picking up their child at PWS needs to have the QR code attached to the inside of the windshield on the passenger side. This will help us quickly locate your student especially in the event of inclement weather when students will be waiting inside the building. QR codes will be sent home with each student on Monday, Jan. 4.

We want to thank the Pray-Woodman PTO for the two large scale replicas of our Pray-Woodman Pride Logo (in the office and foyer area) waiting to welcome our students back to the building. You may view a picture below in the PTO News section of this newsletter.

Looking for a way to keep your kids in books? We have lots of options! 

A wide selection of audiobooks, Tales2go can be found in ClassLink. Almost all students have logged in on their chromebooks. Each student has 2 additional licenses which can be used on tablets or phones. Download the app, sign in once, and enjoy!

Notes from PTO: Even with the modified and limited amount of fundraisers PWS PTO has been able to do this school year, we feel we have had some great success! Below is a yearend report on PTO funds raised for 2020:

We are so grateful to our PWS families who have participated in these fundraisers and spirit nights. We look forward to the days where we can get back to some fun all-school and in-person fundraising activities! The bright spot in 2020 is that with money raised from our 2019 and 2020 fundraisers, we have been able to award our teachers and staff $10,000 in classroom grants this year! We also were able to help support our PWS library with a check for $4,600! PTO purchased new PRIDE logos for the PWS office and east entry. We are so excited for these to continue to be displayed at PWS for years to come. GO PRIDE! We could not have done this without the awesome support of our PWS families. THANK YOU!!
I think we can all agree that teachers and staff have gone above and beyond to make this year as successful as possible. PWS PTO is planning a special December appreciation treat for them before the holiday break. With covid restrictions, Carousel Skate is cancelling all their area school skate events. However, to
continue to give back to the community they are having open skate nights every Wednesday from 6-9
p.m. A percentage of the proceeds from these nights go back to their partnering schools.
