A NOTE FROM NILS
We look forward to “seeing” you at conferences.

Conferences will be Wednesday, and will be conducted virtually from 8:00-3:30 p.m. Each conference will last for 10 minutes.

If you have not scheduled your conference yet, please contact your classroom teacher.

Conference appointments with Music, PE, Library, Math Improvement, Reading Improvement, and Special Education teachers are available upon request.

We will have our Fall Party on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 30.

Due to current conditions, we will not be able to have a costume parade or have family members attend the party. Parents do not need to provide any items for this party.

Students may bring a costume to school to wear at the party. (Please see costume guidelines below.)

The costume should be able to be put on over the student’s clothes.

Students will not be able to leave the room to change into costumes, and they will need to remove the costume before leaving for the day.

Treats will be provided. Parents do not need to provide treats.

We will also play school wide Bingo, and have some other fun surprises for our students on that day.

We are looking forward to a fun day!!!!

A MESSAGE FROM THE LIBRARY
Greetings from the library!  Curious how your kids are choosing just the right book in a safe manner? Kindergarten kiddos fill out a menu each week by circling the topic they'd like to read about. One at a time they sanitize their hands and choose a book from the bin they've chosen. 1st-2nd grade students choose their book from our Destiny card catalog, we take a picture of their choice and fill their order. 3rd-5th grade students choose their book from our Destiny card catalog and fill out an order form with their request. I am personally so very proud of our kiddos for the perseverance they have shown in learning this new and challenging way to get a book. We CAN do hard things!
And on that note, if you haven't seen a library book around your house and notice your child is in need of a book, please let me know how I can help. Contact me at [email protected].

VIRTUAL BOOK FAIR COMING SOON! Our in person book fair is moving online this fall. The same great selection will be available. Each purchase goes to help out our library. With the Box Top program change, our book fair proceeds are more important than ever to keep our library stocked with current titles for our kids. Watch social media for book talks and samples of what you can order. Purchases can be made online October 25-November 7 at bit.ly/pwsbookfair2020 . Starting October 25, when you visit the site, each PWS student can enter to win one of six $10 gift certificates towards Scholastic items.  Together we Read and Grow!
2019-2020 YEARBOOKS
There are a limited number of 2019-2020 yearbooks from last year that are still available for purchase. If you would like to purchase one for your child, please send $20 cash or check (made out to PWS) with your student in an envelope marked Yearbook. We will send the yearbook home with your child once we have received your payment.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
