A Note From Nils
It’s been a great year for the Pray-Woodman Pride!

For the third year in a row, we are pleased to announced that we received a National Showcase School Award from the Flippen Group.

This is an awesome honor for our staff and all of their hard work with our Capturing Kids’ Hearts program. Elements of the program include the social contract, good things, and greeting students every morning as they enter the classroom.

We would like to thank the following staff members who have served the students of PWS and will not be returning next year:

Kendall Davis (Instructional Para)
Patty Eikelman (2nd Grade Teacher)
Mary Hidano (Special Education Para)
Crystal May (4th Grade Teacher)
Loretta Miller (Special Education Para)
Pam McArthur (Finance Secretary)
Christina Roe (3rd Grade Teacher)
Lauren Roulhac (Kindergarten Teacher)

We wish all of them the best in their future endeavors!

We hope you can join us for the PTO Family Skate Night at Carousel Skate Center on Wednesday night from 6 - 8 p.m.

We would like to encourage all students to get involved with the PWX Summer Reading and Math program. Information was sent home with students, and we will send out reminders throughout the summer.

A list of dates for next year was sent home this week, and we hope that you can join us for many of the exciting activities planned for next year.

Best wishes to our Fifth Graders as they head off to Middle School! This was our first class to have been at Pray-Woodman since Kindergarten, and they will always have a special place in our hearts.

Have a great summer!

EXCEL with Pray-Woodman Pride!

Summer Reading and Math
The staff at PWS wants to encourage every PWS student to read and practice their math fluency during the Summer Break 2019. Please see the attached reading and math logs to document time spent working on critical reading and math skills. Students that return a completed log will be invited to the PWS Surprise Party in August.
Nurse's Notes
Medication Pick-up
As we prepare for the end of school, we are busy in the nurse’s office cleaning up and sending items home. Emergency medications, inhalers, diabetic supplies, and all over-the-counter medications will be sent home with the students on May 22nd. If you prefer to pick these up before May 22nd, you are free to do that. If your student has any other type of prescription medication at school, you have probably already received a phone call from me about picking those up or making sure we have just enough to get them through the last day. Please keep in mind our district medication policy as you begin thinking about the 2019-2020 school year. You must fill out and sign a Request for Administration of Medication form each time you send a medication to school with your child. This form can be found on the district website. A doctor’s signature is also required on the form if it is a prescription medication.

Thank you and have a great summer,
Nurse Alli

PTO NEWS
PWS PTO would like thank all our parent volunteers for making staff appreciation week a success! It was a fun week of honoring all our hard working PWS staff. PWS PTO has had another successful year and we made close to $22,000 for our school this year from our various fundraisers and spirit night events. We look forward to adding a portion of that money to our playground improvement fund and move forward on that project in the fall. The rest of the funds will continue to go to teachers and classroom grants in the 2019-20 school year.

Speaking of the next school year, we have a few exciting things on the horizon. PWS PTO is partnering with School Supply Tool Box to offer online school supply orders. The school approved supply lists and ordering can be accessed using the following link schooltoolbox.com Simply register your information and create an account by using our school name. Find the supply list for your child’s grade and customize your list before you buy! There is an option to opt out of items on the list - for example, if your child already has a ruler and does not need a new one, you can opt out of that supply. Your school supplies will be shipped to your home. We’re not only excited about the convenience this offers our PWS families, but School Toolbox donates 10% of the purchase back to the school AND for every school supply box purchased they will donate a meal to the "Feed My Starving Children" charity. Please place your orders by JULY 19th to have supplies by the first day of school.

If you are doing any summer clean outs - PTO would happily take any outdoor equipment off your hands - soccer balls, footballs, four square balls, etc. If you have an over abundance we'd love to use them on our playground. Just drop them off in the PWS PTO office and we'll get them outside for the kids.

Lastly, over the summer continue to check our facebook page (PWS PTO) for updates and news. We'll be working on our new PWS gear and will post our shirt design, styles and ordering details there first!

Have a WONDERFUL summer and we are looking forward to seeing you in the fall!

Girls on the Run
The PWS Girls on the Run group concluded their season with a small project by using cups to spell out the word PRIDE for our new mascot!
