147th Meeting of the Presbytery of Arkansas
A prospective member of one of our congregations wanted to see what our denomination is like and so attended the June 6 meeting of the Presbytery by Zoom. As a result, the Southern Baptist denomination has one fewer member and one of our congregations in eastern Arkansas has one more – that’s what the focus on Congregational Vitality achieved for one church in our Presbytery. I dare say that many other congregations are being encouraged to step out into God’s future in new ways as a result of Jason Tucker’s challenge to us. Read more...

Stated Clerk, Leslie Belden, To Resign
COVID-19 taught us a lot of things – how to use Zoom to continue being connected with people, how to exercise without going to a gym, how much we miss those we love when we can’t touch them, and for many of us we had to learn how to live at a slower pace without so many activities on the calendar. I learned that I am mentally and spiritually healthier living at a slower pace than I had been living prior to the global pandemic. When so many activities dropped off the calendar many of us were forced to learn to breathe and “be” rather than constantly be “doing.” Continue Reading...

New Book Study Inspired by
Theological Discussion
As Jason Tucker talked about outreach, he suggested the book Dreams of the Overworked which talks about the pressures and lives of young adults in families in this digital age. The purpose of reading the book is to grow in understanding so that the church community can provide 'scaffolding' for the family, in other words, "how can the church become a good home and support for young parents and families." Join Carol Clark, our Presbytery builder in a 3 session book study. We have one group that looks like it will meet on Sunday afternoons around 4:30pm and Carol is willing to do another group in the morning, early afternoon or another time if there is interest. Contact her at cbclark05@aol.com; presybyarkconnect (on facebook) or text/call 501-563-6279.
