Welcome Rev. Judi McMillan!
Judi is loving the Ozarks and hills! She is returning to the Presbytery of her ordination after serving many years in Michigan churches. Some were called positions, but many were interims where she helped congregations vision and dream. Judi is interested in spiritual practices like making art, contemplative listening, and being attentive to God's nudgings. She has a love for the outdoors, hiking and cycling. One fun fact, she is also a Knight of Sufferlandria! You may know Judi's mom, Linda McMillan, who is now retired but loved serving at the Presbytery office as well as in Hot Springs. Her parents and grandmother live in Bryant, and her children, McKayla and Caleb live in Michigan. McKayla is a senior at Western and Caleb is working. Both love to travel and she hopes to show them this northern part of Arkansas soon. Judi looks forward to getting to know you in person.

Judi will be installed as Bella Vista's called pastor on October 31 at 3:00pm.
Welcome Back Pastor Jai Kwak!
People at Central Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff and in our Presbytery have much to celebrate as we welcome Rev. Jai Kwak, as their pastor/head of staff.  Jai and his wife Young Ju Oh were at Central in 2015 then moved to San Francisco where Jai served as solo pastor of a Korean congregation.  Happily they have made their way back to Arkansas to resume ministry with Central Presbyterian Church.

Jai has also served as a trauma and oncology chaplain, a staff chaplain at a long-term care facility, and an associate pastor at an immigrant church. Jai and Young have two children, both of whom are working in Atlanta, Georgia.  In addition to being a fine pastor, Jai knows a lot about raising and nurturing growing things as well as building and carpentry.

If you haven't met Jai yet, you'll want to. Please offer both Jai and Young a hearty "welcome home!"

The Bible In A Year
As we approach the new year, many Christians will make a similar resolution – they want to read the Bible more. And every year, people struggle with keeping that resolution.
If you have a small group or your church’s goal is to read the whole Bible in a year, you might want to look at this curriculum from Abingdon Press that has divided the Scripture into 365 smaller, daily goals. It also includes a concise devotional every day. Multiple resources have been created specifically for small group and church leaders to help them integrate the daily Bible goals into the life of the church. Click here to learn more.

Additionally, Amplify Media is sponsoring a free webinar on Tuesday, October 26 at 1:00pm to meet some of the contributors behind this special project – including creator, Rev. Magrey deVega – as well as people who have already used it. Click here to register.
