The Presbyark Update
Keeping the Presbytery of Arkansas informed.
September 3, 2020
The presbyark.org website has been infected with a virus. Past articles will still link to it right now and you might be able to open it, but it is not safe to download anything from it. We are working on the problem and will let you know once the situation has been resolved. We thank you for your patience.

There will be two more Pastor/Church Professionals meetings during September. We will meet at 10:00am this Friday, September 18 and next Wednesday, September 23. We always use the same presbytery link or number and password. If you have questions, contact Julie at julietannerprice@gmail.com.

Free Webinar on Planning Advent & Christmas
As 2020 unfolds, we are re-imagining so many of our beloved rituals. Chances are good that at least some of your Christmas Eve traditions will be decidedly different this year. Join PCUSA pastor Kelly Fitzgerald as she helps us consider how we can keep Christmas Eve both Sacred and Safe in this free webinar on September 29 at 12:00 noon. We will also look at Advent and how we might support faith formation for all ages.

Presbytery Meeting October 23-24 on Your Device!
The 145th meeting of the Presbytery of Arkansas will be zooming into your homes again this October and everyone is invited to attend! This meeting will take place all during the week, with pre-presbytery workshops during the evenings prior to the meeting. We’ll worship on Friday evening then engage in a theological discussion on Saturday morning with the business of the Presbytery interspersed throughout. The focus for this meeting is “Dismantling Structural Racism,” following up on our March meeting at Lyon College at which MWS Diana Moffett spoke.

Our guest pastor and discussion leader will be Judge Wendell Griffen, pastor of New Millennium Church of Little Rock.
Youthquake: Sundays Together
Instead of an in-person retreat weekend this fall, the Youth A-Team has invited you to Youthquake: Sundays Together

We'll gather together once a month on zoom to play games, explore our faith and serve our communities. All youth 6th-12th and their supporting church adults are invited. You can join as a youth group or individually from your own home.

Our first gathering is October 4. CLICK HERE for more information and to register for this event.

Sign up individually or as a youth group by Friday, Sept 25 to receive the free materials you'll need for October 4. We're so excited to spend one Sunday a month hanging out with you!
Pastors: A Time For Restoring Your Soul
We have been listening to your cries for help. We know you are tired and you are exhausted and you are searching for something to look forward to that will give you rest for your souls. To that end, we are working on some very small group, socially distanced retreats. We are working with Rebecca Spooner to create a safe place where you can go to discover healing, grace and renewal through reflection, relaxation, and re-connection. We are planning the first event for mid-October and hope to be sending out information soon. Direct questions to Julie at julietannerprice@gmail.com.
