E-Messenger April 30, 2020
FROM THE RECTOR

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope all is well. Tomorrow, for our Friday video, we will have a special message from Bishop Waldo. This was the week he was supposed to visit us, and, so, to the best of his ability, Bishop Waldo will do a virtual visitation. He will be meeting with the Vestry on Zoom at 1 p.m.

As you all have experienced yourselves, life, work, and ministry during this Covid-19 quarantine has required some creativity and flexibility. I am thankful for Bishop Waldo, who is doing his best during this time. We look forward to virtually welcoming him.

Next week, St. Martin's will be participating in Midlands Gives. Please consider using the link in this newsletter for supporting Harvest Hope, and, of course, St. Martin's will be accepting donations for our own ongoing ministries. Please prayerfully consider giving a gift.

This past month has been an intense period of adjustment for St. Martin's. In the first part of the quarantine we spent considerable effort working on setting up church services, navigating Holy Week, and celebrating Easter. St. Martin's is, as are most institutions, looking at longterm impacts and goals. I am thankful for the ministry team we have. I am thankful for all of the lay leadership. It is all of these people who are working hard to keep our community's connections alive and well. Mission, education, pastoral care, worship, and prayer are all things we can still do, and do well. Thank you for your help as we navigate doing all of these things in new and unforeseen ways.

In Christ,
Mitch+
