E-Messenger Sept. 10, 2020
FROM THE RECTOR

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

A lot has happened in the last few weeks. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday services continue. These services are in-person prayers on The Point at 8 a.m and 6 p.m. Sunday services have also continued to evolve. We now have three Sunday offerings: 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. services on The Point and a 10 a.m. service that is virtual via our YouTube channel.

Children's ministries have also begun. We've seen some awesome pictures of kids with their "boxes." (Parents, if you have questions, see the item about Storymakers in the children's section below and watch Caitlyn's video.)

In terms of mission, feeding ministries at St. Luke's have continued; the Harvest Hope wagons have been filled; the Community House has had meetings; aid has been given when needed, and a new ministry has emerged. That new ministry is a "Blessing Box" built by Jamison Welch as his Eagle Scout project. A "Blessing Box" operates a lot like a little free library, but instead of books, you leave food or take food, leave pampers, or take pampers. Jamison, it's an awesome project, and St. Martin's is grateful.

With all of the above going on, not to mention discernment committee work, virtual Bible studies, Pints with Priests, pastoral care, after-church coffee hour, bi-weekly publications, and the creation of a quarterly magazine, it seems like things are really rolling. It almost seems like it's the start of any other normal school year (if not busier), and yet we all know that it is not. My friends, please participate in as much or as little of the church offerings as you want. We are here, we are striving to serve you, but we also know the pressures of this current world are a lot. When you need a break, take it. When you are ready to return, St. Martin's will faithfully be here. There has been a lot of change in 2020, but one thing that has remained the same is St. Martin's mission to welcome all, and to love and to serve the Lord.

In Christ,
Mitch+
