Luke 1:30-38 - "Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with Good. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus."

What's Happening with our FPC Kids?

Chris Kline led Sunday school students in practice for their upcoming presentation. They are sounding wonderful and are prepared to sing for the congregation next Sunday.

Terry worked with the 5-7th grade students on Luke 1:26-38. After reading the passage, we discussed how Mary must have felt when she heard the news that she would be having a baby. We think that she might have been surprised that God chose her to be the mother of his son. We wondered if she knew what to expect as she raised Jesus. Did she know that he would be crucified? Aidan Judd sang part of the song, "Mary Did You Know?" It is a great song that asks the questions we addressed in class.

The younger class, with Teal and Janet, listened to the story in Luke 1. Children talked about Advent, and learned that it is the four Sundays leading up to the birth of Jesus. It is a time when we remember the real meaning of Christmas.

Older students joined the younger class to make Christmas cards. We are very proud of our talented artists and that the older children always help the younger ones. We have a very loving group of Sunday school children.

Things to do this week:
*Sing Christmas Carols with your family
*Give the gift of caring. Send or give a card to a firefighter, ambulance driver, police officer, a veteran, a doctor, an elderly person, or to anyone who has made a difference in our community.

Upcoming Events:

Singing in Church: Children will sing next Sunday, December 16th.
We are hoping that everyone attends church to hear our children sing the song they have learned with Mr. Kline.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me."
