After a brief presentation about the CAPABLE program, we’ll take the Township bus to tour various spots throughout the community. Limited spots available. Volunteers are needed to deliver warm meals to seniors throughout the year - especially in the cold winter months.

HOME DELIVERED MEAL PROGRAM

We are seeking volunteers with a car to deliver meals to older adults two mornings per week. It’s more than a nutritious meal - it’s a friendly check-in from our Township trusted staff or a Township volunteer who delivers the meals to individuals age 60 and older (regardless of income) who have trouble getting around or preparing their own food. Special diets are accommodated. Call (708) 383-8060 to learn more.

Volunteer to Deliver Meals

Attend the Zoom Panel on October 24 to learn how you can better accommodate our neighbors.

ACCESSIBILITY AWARENESS PANEL DISCUSSION

River Forest Township is proud to support Opportunity Knocks hosting a free Zoom discussion for local businesses on Thursday, October 24 from 12:15-1PM. You’ll have the opportunity to listen to some Warriors discuss life and work within local community businesses. You'll learn about existing challenges for customers with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities as well as learn a few easy-to-implement suggestions on how to improve quality of life for them in your businesses!

RIVER FOREST COMMUNITY SAFETY

River Forest Community Safety is a personal safety curriculum for students in grades K-8, supported by the River Forest Police Department and River Forest Township. The curriculum is designed to foster a secure and supportive environment for students, staff, and families within the River Forest community. This rebranding of the iSEARCH program reflects a broader, community-centric approach to safety and well-being.
