Following approval of Express Toll Lanes as part of the U.S. 69 Expansion Project (69Express) earlier this summer, the Project Team has been completing the environmental assessment (EA), which includes a noise study.
The results of the 69Express noise study are now expected to be ready and publicly available in November, approximately eight weeks later than originally scheduled, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).
“KDOT delayed the noise analysis to conduct reviews of its current noise policy and the noise analysis performed in this corridor as part of previous projects on U.S. 69 and I-435,” said Lindsey Douglas, KDOT Deputy Secretary. “Given the previous work in the corridor, and similar development that has occurred, KDOT wants to maintain consistency between previous projects and this current project by applying similar noise analysis criteria.”
