Hoping that Everyone had a Happy, Healthy and Safe Long Weekend Celebrating Our Countries 245th Birthday
Commencement speaker Dr. Yolanda Lewis-Ragland
Watch the replay of the commencement ceremony
here.
On June 19th Maharishi University of Management held its 44th commencement. Around 600 students from 49 countries graduated this year, including 78 students from the Maharishi Invincibility Institute, MIU’s sister institution in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The commencement ceremony this year fell on Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates the abolition of slavery in the US. Commencement speaker Dr. Yolanda Lewis-Ragland expressed her belief that the recent declaration of Juneteenth as a national holiday is a beginning of true emancipation and can set the country free from a mindset that focuses on division. She also acknowledged the role of Consciousness-Based education in developing the potential of every individual.

“Transcendental Meditation gives us a new definition of emancipation,” said Dr. Ragland-Lewis. “It helps us rid ourselves of the limitations of our minds, the shackles placed on us from childhood traumas, rejections in society, from toxic ideologies and relationships. With TM, we break free from those shackles and embrace our creativity, our ability to learn, and fully participate in this world.”

Guru Purnima National Yagya
NEXT U.S. NATIONAL YAGYA PERFORMANCE JULY 14 – JULY 24

“In our world, we want to see all our people peaceful, happy, fulfilled, integrated, fully enlightened, and in possession of all possibilities. Creativity that is unlimited, unbounded, eternal and ever lasting. That is the gift that has been coming on from Guru Purnima.”— Maharishi, 2005

As long as the need for Nature’s support remains as urgent as it is today, we must continue to provide our nation with the largest National Yagyas that we can muster.

Starting on July 14, this month’s USA National Yagya will culminate on Guru Purnima, July 24―when it is traditional to offer gratitude to our teacher for his many priceless and extraordinary gifts to us.

What better way to express our gratitude to Maharishi than by launching a National Yagya commensurate with his enormous devotion to the upliftment of human life! A Yagya which activates the life-supporting dynamics to move us powerfully through this period of profound transformation—to the high level of dignity, harmony, and abundance that Maharishi always envisioned for us.

The Sankalpa (intention) of the Yagya will be:
A smooth transition
to a coherent, healthy, and prosperous nation

May the full power of Nature’s Creative Intelligence guide and uplift America, and may Maharishi’s legacy of peace and enlightenment permanently bless the human race.
Yagya Opportunity for Guru Purnima
This upcoming Guru Purnima on 24 July 2021, is a highly auspicious opportunity for a Well-Being Special Yagya.

Guru Purnima is a day of fullness and gratitude to the Vedic Tradition. Special Yagyas performed on this day promote our spiritual development, fullness in life and connection with the Vedic Tradition.

Applying for these Yagyas is very easy and can be done here. Please request your Yagya at least seven days in advance. To read more about the Special Yagyas please click here.

All proceeds from the Yagyas go towards supporting the Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India and are deeply appreciated.

Take Your Experience to the Next Level with an Advanced Technique
of the TM Program
July 16th at the Maharishi Peace Palace

“The purpose of Advanced Techniques is to take the experience to another, higher level. Advanced Techniques are like fertilizers; fertilizers bring better fruit to every tree. To enjoy greater achievement and fulfillment in life, take advantage of this beautiful program of Advanced Techniques to enrich the development of higher states of consciousness.” — Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

We are delighted to announce that Advanced Techniques of the TM® program will be offered at the Fairfield, Iowa TM Center from July 16th to 17th.

Q: What are Advanced Techniques?
A: Like the TM technique, Advanced Techniques are easily-practiced mental techniques that accelerate personal growth. During TM, we experience a fourth state of consciousness, a state of restful alertness that dissolves stress, enhances brain functioning, and balances the body and emotions. Advanced Techniques speed up the integration of this state with our regular daily activity, bringing faster results from our TM practice.

Q: Who can learn, and how do I know if I’m ready?
A: You must have practiced TM regularly, twice a day, for a minimum of the last two months to be eligible to apply for an Advanced Technique. Each technique is simple—easy to learn, easy to practice—and, best of all, enjoyable! That said, if you’d like our advice regarding your personal readiness, just give us a call.

Q: What is the course structure?
A: The course consists of three sessions:
  • First, an orientation meeting (1½ hours)
  • Second, personal instruction in the appropriate Advanced Technique (2–3 hours)
  • Third, a checking meeting the following day to answer questions and verify the correctness of your practice (2 hours)

Orientation: An orientation meeting is an opportunity to learn more about Advanced Techniques. It is free, and there is no obligation to take the course. But if you want to learn an Advanced Technique at this time, you must attend the orientation meeting and then fill out an application form. Here is the schedule of orientation meetings:

Thursday, July 15th, 2PM

Personal Instruction: Friday July 16th
Checking Meeting: Saturday July 17th 9:30am & 11am

Q: How do I begin?
A: Please choose one of the orientation meetings, and respond by email at wdevasier@tm.org or call 641-919-8188 or 641-919-1300. If the orientation meeting times don’t work for you, let us know, and we will find another time to meet with you.

COVID-19 Safeguards will be in place.

New eBook - The Cosmic Nature of Life

During a lecture in Rishikesh, India, 31 January 1968, Maharishi speaks on the relationship and integration between that which is ever changing and progressive and that which is stable and eternal.
He explains that, "So (the) natural state of life is that where the ever-progressive aspect is ever established consciously on that field of eternity; and that is life. If we are living that, then we are living life."

This eBook, with audio, along with the text from Maharishi's very profound lecture includes some special pictures of Maharishi.

To open the eBook, click here or on the picture above. We highly recommend viewing it on a computer with Google Chrome as this gives a very full and enjoyable experience. What Do Successful People Mean When They Say “Transcendental Meditation Changed My Life”?

HEALTH & FITNESS JUNE 28, 2021

What is about "TM" that inspires such a fervid response?
Investigating a lofty claim that is oft repeated by notable entertainers and entrepreneurs
Toward the end of my interview with Will Ahmed a few months ago, I asked the Whoop CEO what he was doing to keep his head screwed on straight during the pandemic. He mentioned family, sleep, cutting back on drinking. Then he talked at length about his secret weapon: Transcendental Meditation. Ahmed’s been at the practice for seven years. Here’s his quote in full:

“I got to a point of crisis. I was strung-out. I was an ineffective entrepreneur, I felt. This was around 2014. The company was 20 or 25 people. I raised millions of dollars but I didn’t feel like I was doing a good job. I felt anxious and stressed. I needed to find something to be more in control. This led me down this rabbit hole to Transcendental Meditation. I took a four-day course, and I’ve been doing it every single day since. It changed my life.”

That final line looked familiar. It’s one I’ve seen constantly for years now, and generally from we might describe as highly successful entrepreneurs and entertainers. TM is the preferred meditation style of people named Marc Benioff, Hugh Jackman, Oprah, Jeff Weiner, Ellen DeGeneres, Ray Dalio, Jerry Seinfeld and — perhaps most famously — David Lynch. These people often credit TM with “changing” their lives, and because their lives seem pretty damn good, it’s only natural to assume that practicing TM is closely linked to success.

Celebrities like Hugh Jackman and Oprah Winfrey swear by transcendental mediation - here's how to do it

SARAH FIELDING, SHELLEY DAWSON JUN 26, 2021
Hugh Jackman is a huge proponent of transcendental meditation.
  • Transcendental meditation is a mantra-based form of meditation designed to induce calmness.
  • The benefits of transcendental meditation include reduced stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • To do transcendental meditation, repeat a personalized mantra for 10 to 15 minutes twice a day.
Transcendental meditation (TM) was founded in India by the Hindu monk Swami Brahmananda Saraswatiin, and is a form of meditation in which people repeat a single word or phrase throughout the practice.

Today, it's a worldwide practice famously used amongst Wall Street executives and celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Hugh Jackman.

The main thing that differentiates transcendental meditation from other forms is its focus on a repeated word or phrase versus breathing or body scanning.

"It's simple not because it's simplistic, or a beginner's meditation, but because there's a profound and elegant simplicity to the practice," says Deboragh Varnel, a Certified TM Teacher and director at Vancouver TM for Women Centre. "It's effortless in contrast to many other meditation techniques which involve concentration or control of the mind, trying to clear the mind of thoughts."

According to Varnel, the benefits of transcendental meditation include:
