New Course with Dr. Peter Warburton
Begins August 14th
|
|
Tuesday and Saturday Afternoons Live via Zoom
2:00 - 3:30 CDT Starting Saturday, August 14
|
This new 12-lesson course by Dr. Peter Warburton, Forty Aspects of Veda and Vedic Literature in the Light of Maharishi's Total Knowledge, continues the deep exploration of Maharishi's Total Knowledge which has been enjoyed by several thousand course participants during the past few years.
During the course we will review the entire structure of the Veda as a phenomenon of the Self of everyone. We will look at it from the inside, from the level of one's own pure consciousness, but also see the process by which that entire structure of the Veda manifests giving rise to every detail of the human physiology and the entire universe. Dr. Tony Nader's work on Veda and the Human Physiology will be an essential part of this exposition.
Maharishi had suggested to Dr. Warburton to look at each area of the Vedic Literature in the light of Maharishi's Total Knowledge. This course will include:
- Exploration of each of the forty aspects and their interrelations
- Readings and recitations from each of the 40 aspects

NEXT US NATIONAL YAGYA℠
PERFORMANCE AUGUST 9 – AUGUST 19
|
|
Honoring Friends and Family
“The reason I got an early start on requesting the Yagya honoring my dear friend is because as soon as you set things in motion, good things begin to happen. She emailed yesterday and told me that she felt a rush/wave of happiness the day before and had no idea why. Then she read my e-mail and she understood.
“Same for me: As soon as I made the donation for her Yagya I felt elated, like being buoyed in a bubble of light where everything is ordered up to satisfy your desires.” — H.P.
We continue to be inspired by the experiences of those who have been honored with a donation to a National Yagya performance—experiences which are virtually identical to those reported by the donors themselves.
You can make a donation of any amount in honor—or memory—of anyone you choose. The honoree or their family will receive a beautiful email informing them of your gift. And all honorees will be acknowledged as a group (or individually—see below) on each of the 11 days of the Yagya.
Many donors are choosing the gift of a National Yagya as a way to honor someone for their birthday, anniversary, a family member’s passing, or other key event.
This can be done with a one-time donation, or with automatic monthly donations so that the honoree can enjoy National Yagyas throughout the year.
CLICK HERE to honor someone with a one-time donation.
CLICK HERE to honor someone with automatic monthly donations.
We invite you to enjoy a few experiences reported by people honored with even modest National Yagya donations. CLICK HERE
The Sankalpa (intention) of the Yagya will be:
Coherence, harmony, and spiritual awakening
for the United States and its people
Please sign up by Tuesday, August 3.

Take Your Experience to the Next Level with an Advanced Technique
of the TM Program
|
|
Saturday August 28th at the Maharishi Peace Palace
|
“The purpose of Advanced Techniques is to take the experience to another, higher level. Advanced Techniques are like fertilizers; fertilizers bring better fruit to every tree. To enjoy greater achievement and fulfillment in life, take advantage of this beautiful program of Advanced Techniques to enrich the development of higher states of consciousness.” —TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Q: What are Advanced Techniques?
A: Like the TM technique, Advanced Techniques are easily-practiced mental techniques that accelerate personal growth. During TM, we experience a fourth state of consciousness, a state of restful alertness that dissolves stress, enhances brain functioning, and balances the body and emotions. Advanced Techniques speed up the integration of this state with our regular daily activity, bringing faster results from our TM practice.
Q: How many are there?
A: There are four Advanced Techniques brought to light by Maharishi in his Vedic Science and Technology, the Science and Technology of Consciousness. The first is practiced for a few minutes before going to sleep. The second, third, and fourth Advanced Techniques are effortlessly incorporated into your twice-daily TM practice.
Q: Do I learn them all at once or one at a time?
A: One at a time and in sequence. You’ll practice an Advanced Technique at least two to four months before adding the next one.
Q: Who teaches the Advanced Techniques?
A: Specially trained, highly experienced certified TM teacher Mario Orsatti has been teaching the TM technique since 1973 and the Advanced Technique courses for the last 4 years. He is the Executive Director of the Center for Health and Wellness at the David Lynch Foundation, where he oversees TM programs for government and military leaders in Washington, D.C., and for business executives in New York City. He will be present at each session for instruction and verification.
Q: Who can learn, and how do I know if I’m ready?
A: You must have practiced TM regularly, twice a day, for a minimum of the last two months to be eligible to apply for an Advanced Technique. Each technique is simple—easy to learn, easy to practice—and, best of all, enjoyable! That said, if you’d like our advice regarding your personal readiness, just give us a call.
Q: What is the course structure?
A: The course consists of three sessions:
- First, an orientation meeting (1½ hours)
- Second, personal instruction in the appropriate Advanced Technique (2–3 hours)
- Third, a checking meeting the following day to answer questions and verify the correctness of your practice (2 hours)
Orientation: An orientation meeting is an opportunity to learn more about Advanced Techniques. It is free, and there is no obligation to take the course. But if you want to learn an Advanced Technique at this time, you must attend the orientation meeting and then fill out an application form. Here is the schedule of orientation meetings:
Friday, August 27th, 2PM
Personal Instruction: Saturday August 28th
Checking Meeting: Sunday August 29th 9:30am & 11am
Q: How do I begin?
A: Please choose one of the orientation meetings, and respond by email at wdevasierl@tm.org or call 641-919-8188 or 641-919-1300. If the orientation meeting times don’t work for you, let us know, and we will find another time to meet with you.

New eBook - The Untapped Source of Power That Lies Within - from 1963
In this inspiring lecture, Maharishi explores the range of influence that everyone has in the entire cosmos
|
|
In this inspiring lecture, Maharishi explores the range of influence that everyone has in the entire cosmos:
"The entire universe lies in the individual. Cosmic existence lies in the existence of the individual. Cosmic life rests in the individual life and the individual life extends to cosmic life. The individual and the cosmos are interdependent. Neither of them is independent of the other. Every move of the individual shakes the cosmos. The universe reacts to the individual action."
We created an eBook with audio along with the text from this profound lecture and included some special pictures of Maharishi.
To open the eBook, click here or on the picture above. We highly recommend viewing it on a computer with Google Chrome as this gives a very full and enjoyable experience. Please turn the pages slowly and wait for the audio bar to begin playing on the selected pages with audio. The first audio bar appears on page 4 after the title pages.

Landmark Study on Neurophysiological Evidence of Cosmic Consciousness
Research on witnessing
(inner awareness) during deep sleep
BY DAVID ORME-JOHNSON, PH.D.
Study by Lynne Israelson Mason, Ph.D.
|
|
“A quiet, peaceful inner awareness or wakefulness with sleep at the surface, but bliss, pure consciousness, and sublimity underneath.” —J.A.S.
In my interview with Dr. Mason, she takes us behind the scenes to tell us how this research at Maharishi International University (MIU) came about, and what the results mean for our understanding of the full development of human potential.
First, let’s define some of the key features of Cosmic Consciousness.
What Is Cosmic Consciousness?
As we discussed in Part 4 of the Scientific Quest for Enlightenment Series—“What Is Cosmic Consciousness?”—regular twice-a-day practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique alternated with daily activity progressively habituates the nervous system to maintain Transcendental Consciousness, the fourth state, along with waking, dreaming, and sleep states of consciousness.
This gives rise to the development of a fifth state of consciousness, which TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi called Cosmic Consciousness. Maharishi explained that the enlightened state of Cosmic Consciousness arises spontaneously and naturally when the nervous system becomes sufficiently stress-free and is functioning normally.

Tuning the Student Mind | 51:35
A conversation with Professor Molly Beauregard
|
|
Molly Beauregard discusses why it is important for students to develop the full potential of their consciousness as part of their college education and to prepare them for a fulfilling life in today’s world. She also describes the benefits her students have gained from their practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique as part of her course “Consciousness, Creativity, and Identity.”
Professor Beauregard has taught sociology for 18 years at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. Her course, “Consciousness, Creativity, and Identity,” was one of the first college courses in the country (outside of Maharishi International University) to integrate the TM technique into an academic curriculum, and it has provided a model for other colleges and universities.
She is the author of Tuning the Student Mind: A Journey in Consciousness-Centered Education (SUNY Press, 2020), and the Executive Director of the Tuning the Student Mind Foundation, which supports consciousness-centered initiatives at colleges and universities across the country. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and master’s degrees in sociology and public administration from Loyola University Chicago and the University of Pittsburgh.

Is Enlightenment Achievable?
July 21, 2021
|
|
Evidence suggests that meditators experience a distinct state of awareness.
KEY POINTS
- In spiritual traditions, meditation is thought to lead to "enlightenment," a state in which one permanently experiences calm, restful alertness.
- Meditators who claim to have achieved enlightenment have distinct patterns of brain activity while awake and asleep, studies show.
- Long-term meditators also have less activity in parts of the brain linked to rambling thoughts, distracting emotions, and fear.
In the late 1960s, college students around the world began meditating in search of enlightenment. What if, more than 50 years later, they are finding what they were looking for?
What is enlightenment? Why would those college students spend more than 50 years looking for it? Is there scientific evidence that at least some of them found it?
When Siddhartha Gautama sat in meditation in search of enlightenment, what was he doing? Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement, says that the goal of meditation is to become aware of our own awareness or consciousness. Doing so, he said, we enter a distinct fourth state of consciousness, different from our ordinary waking, dreaming, and sleeping states of consciousness, but also one that is natural and normal for us to experience. He called this fourth state of consciousness "transcendental consciousness" (TC), or restful alertness, and said it was a direct experience of the all-pervading field of pure consciousness. Maharishi spoke of experiencing TC during twice-daily meditations as the basis of becoming enlightened. Philosopher Jonathan Shear argues that this fourth state of consciousness is the “mystical experience."
Scientific Evidence of Enlightenment
According to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, enlightenment is a fifth state of awareness where the fourth state, TC, is continuously experienced at the same time one experiences our world. He said that enlightenment is permanently experiencing “that inner calmness, that quiet state of least excitation, even when we are dynamically busy,” and experiencing TC during all phases of sleep, which he called witnessing of sleep.
