James City County Housing to Open Waiting List for Mainstream Vouchers
James City County Housing will be accepting applications on-line for its Housing Choice Voucher, Mainstream Voucher Program beginning Oct. 29, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Applications must be submitted on-line at www.waitlistcheck.com/va2701.
Status information regarding placement on the list will be available on-line shortly after the closing date. Instructions regarding obtaining status information are provided during the on-line application process. Applications can only be provided on-line. The time and date of receipt of the application online has no bearing on whether an application will be selected for the waiting list.
Due to restrictions of the Mainstream Voucher program, only households including a member meeting the requirements of non-elderly (defined as at least 18 years old and not yet 62), with disabilities, living/working in James City County, transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settings and currently a participant in a permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing project will be selected and ordered using a random lottery system. Not all applicants will be placed on the Waiting List. Applications submitted that do not meet the preferences outlined above will not be reviewed and will not be added to the waiting list.
Waiting list preference will be given to current residents of James City County.
