Longer then a text but not a newsletter here is the latest goings-on at the Wing.
Open Hangar Day
Saturday, September 7th
Women with Wings!
Celebrating Women in Aviation!
Learn about women aviation pioneers and women pilots who are flying the planes of today! Kids...make a frame for an aviation photo...you choose the photo!
We open to the Public at 10:00am. Set up starts at 8:00am. Come out and help invite the public to HOA. 
B-29 Doc is coming to
Open Hangar Day
Doc will be arriving Friday September 6th at 2:00pm. They will be selling cockpit tours Friday afternoon and again Saturday and Sunday Afternoons. They are selling ride flights for Saturday and Sunday mornings. Ride Flight Info
CAF at Old Settlers Day
Old Settler Day is fast approaching. September 5 th , 6 th and 7 th. In Downtown Olathe. We set up on Wednesday evening September 4 th and host at tent Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you have a few hours you can help out, we can use you! We will even teach you how to make dog tags!

HQ Spotlights HOA Member
In this months August Issue of The Dispatch , the Member Spotlight features our own Jim Stella. If you haven’t had a chance to read the article you can check it out here . 
Hangar Roof Repairs
Our hangar is almost 20 years old and it is showing its age. The roof has numerous leaks both in the Education Center & Museum along with in the general hangar. The estimates for repairs are very expensive. At the August General Meeting we started raising money and raised over $7,000.00 to repair the roof. We are off to a fantastic start! Watch of more information on donating to repair the roof. 
Patches, Badges and Pins...
Jim Shyrock and Darren Roberts are working a new display for the Education Center and they need your help. They are looking for military patches, badges and pins from WWII to current issue and CAF. Do you have one or more you would like to donate? If so please bring them out to the hangar. There is a patch donation box in the Education Center (Museum).
