Topping out ceremony held for new Student Success Center at CSUSB Palm Desert Campus


The topping out ceremony marked the completion of the building’s structural frame and brought the campus one step closer to opening its first state-funded building and first new facility in 16 years.

Cal State San Bernardino, including the Palm Desert Campus, is currently accepting undergraduate applications for the Fall 2026 semester. First-time freshmen, as well as lower-division and upper-division transfer students, are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot at the university.

CSUSB students garner top awards at Model UN Conference in Canada


CSUSB delegations from the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses joined 26 universities and colleges representing five continents for a week of experiential learning, cultural exchange and global policy simulation. CSUSB was awarded the Distinguished Delegation Award at the closing ceremony.

2025 Student ShowCASE highlights outstanding research and creative projects at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus


The 2025 Student ShowCASE took place at the Cal State San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus, drawing more than 150 attendees in celebration of student research, creativity and scholarship.

Cal State San Bernardino to celebrate Class of 2025 at fall commencement ceremonies


Cal State San Bernardino will honor its Class of 2025 with a series of commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, at the university’s Coussoulis Arena.


All ceremonies will be livestreamed.

Cal State San Bernardino earned the No. 2 spot in the nation for social mobility in The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse Social Mobility ranking, a recognition of the university’s commitment to student success and its role in helping students define their futures.

Staff Spotlight - Katrina McDowell


Congratulations to Katrina McDowell, PDC Community Service Specialist, on successfully passing the California Bar Examination! This remarkable achievement reflects her dedication, perseverance and commitment to public service. Katrina is now working toward securing a position with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, and all of us at PDC couldn’t be more proud. We look forward to seeing her continue to grow and excel in this next exciting chapter of her career.

Alumni Spotlight - Kate Spates, '97


CSUSB Palm Desert Campus alumna, Kate Spates, has been named the new executive director of The One Valley Foundation, the charitable arm of the Coachella Valley Firebirds.


A longtime Coachella Valley resident, respected entrepreneur and community leader, Kate brings more than 25 years of experience in business, marketing and nonprofit management to the role. As executive director, she will guide the Foundation’s strategic direction, oversee its expanding programs and lead initiatives supporting education, youth sports and philanthropic efforts throughout the Coachella Valley.

Direct Admission Day


PDC had the pleasure of welcoming high school seniors from our local school districts to campus for Direct Admission Day - a day filled with excitement and connection!


Students had the opportunity to celebrate their admission to CSUSB, explore campus life, and truly envision themselves as a Coyote at PDC. Event highlights included a resource fair, a welcome celebration, student perspective circle and a campus tour.

National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Conference


A group of student affairs professionals from the Palm Desert and San Bernardino campuses were selected to attend the 2025 National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Western Regional Conference in Palm Springs for their outstanding contributions to the university.


Attendees made presentations and participated in workshops to help shape the future of student affairs.


Alex “Panda” Armendariz from the CSUSB Office of Government, Tribal and Community Relations served on the Planning Committee as the inaugural Indigenous Communities Representative. 

Palm Springs Pride Parade


CSUSB Palm Desert Campus proudly participated in the Palm Springs Pride Parade, celebrating diversity, inclusion and community spirit. Students, staff and faculty marched together to showcase the campus’s commitment to supporting a welcoming environment for all. The vibrant event brought thousands together, and PDC was honored to be part of one of the region’s most joyful and unifying celebrations.

American Heart Association Heart Walk


CSUSB Palm Desert Campus nursing students made a real difference at the American Heart Association Heart Walk at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park, where they volunteered their time and skills by providing free manual blood pressure screenings for participants—completing more than 50 readings throughout the event.
