Dear Camp Families,

We hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving enjoyed the holiday with their family and friends. Even though it's not officially winter yet on the calendar, winter weather is already upon us up at camp. It's snowed three times already and there is about one foot of snow on the ground.

It's less than 7 months until the start of the 2019 camp season! Some of our cabins are already full or close to being full for Session 2. If you haven't enrolled yet, don't wait much longer. If you have friends or family considering North Star for the first time, let them know that there is limited availability for some age groups in Session 2, July 7 - 20.

In January, we will both be in the Boston area, Southern Connecticut and New York visiting with new families. If you know someone who would like to meet us and learn more about North Star, have them contact us in the office to schedule a home visit. For anyone living elsewhere, we can arrange a phone or Skype call and visit them later this winter.

Enjoy the start to the holiday season. If your child is seeing North Star friends over winter vacation, take a photo and send it to us so we can share it on our social media. Campers love seeing photos of their North Star family on Instagram and Facebook.

If you have any questions about the the upcoming camp season, contact us by phone or e-mail at your convenience.

Warm regards,

Brooke and Steven
Camp Transportation
It's not too early to start thinking about how your child is traveling to and from camp. If your child is flying into Boston Logan Airport, check with our office first before you book your flights. Arrival days in Boston are on the following Saturdays only - June 22, July 6 and July 20. Departure days for flights out of Boston are the same as the last day of each session - July 6, July 20 and August 10.

If you are flying into Portland Jetport contact the office as well to confirm your flights before booking. Flights into and out of Portland should be booked on the actual arrival and departure date for each session.

We also offer charter bus transportation service in Secaucus, NJ; Manhattan; Darien, CT; and Lexington, MA. Reservation forms for bus service will be available in your CampMinder account in February.

Parents do have the option of dropping off and picking up at camp. The drop off window is between 1 - 2 PM on arrival days (June 23, July 7 and July 21). The pickup times are between 9 - 10 AM on departure days (July 6, July 20 and August 10).

If you have questions about transportation, contact our office.

We'll post more of the returning staff in the next newsletter.
Evening Activities
At the end of each day, campers always look forward to the evening activity. Some activities are traditions that are always on the calendar such as Dances, Sing Out, Lip Sync Contest and Campfires. Other activities rotate year-to-year. There's always new activities that we add in each year as well.

We want the campers to vote for which activity they most want to see from last summer, back on the 2019 Evening Activities Calendar.
