This Sunday

Come join us for worship this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in English or 1:00 p.m. in Spanish as we celebrate the first Sunday after Pentecost by hearing Jesus instruction his disciples on evangelism, the sermon that we know as the Great Commission. In Matthew 28 Jesus tells his disciples “go and make all the nations into disciples. Baptize them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit.” The concept of evangelism can make us Lutherans a wee bit uncomfortable. However there are many ways to share the faith other than knocking on doors or passing out pamphlets. We all have talents for sharing the faith. We simply need to learn what our individual talents are. Each of us has the opportunity to touch the lives of others by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When God gives you the opportunity to share the good news, pray for the courage to say “Yes”!

Annual Meeting Scheduled for June 14

This year’s Annual Meeting will take place between services (approximately 12 noon) on Sunday June 14^th. Our primary order of business will be the election of officers to serve on our Congregational Council. As of this writing we are still looking for parishioners who are willing to serve. As an ELCA congregation we are obligated to work under governance prescribed by our Church Constitution. The Constitution requires a Church Council. We simply are unable to function as a congregation unless volunteers step up and agree to lead. Please be receptive if you are approached by a nominating committee member about the prospect of serving. Our future as a viable congregation depends on you!

Day Camp 2026

This Year’s Youth Day Camp for children ages five through thirteen will run from June 8th through June 12th. Pastor Mike and the “Good Ole’ Guys” have been preparing for quite a while to present a fun and educational experience for our elementary aged students. “Thanks” go out to those who have volunteered to help at the Camp and to those who have donated money to support the initiative. Please keep the Camp leaders and Camp counselors in your prayers, asking God that their efforts might plant the seeds of faith in the hearts of the young attendees.

Synod Assembly this Weekend

Pastor Julie and Pastor Mike are headed to Synod Assembly this Thursday May 28. They will be participating in the regional meeting in Columbus, GA through Saturday the 30^th. Both will be home for services on the 31^st.
