Accelerating AI with Lambda Labs
|
|
AutonomouStuff recently acquired a new tool built by one of our partners to significantly expand our
machine learning
capabilities and deliver mature autonomy software at a faster pace.
The Lambda Labs Quad workstation with four GPUs provides an
enhanced environment for algorithm training
using convolutional neural networks. The Lambda workstation reduces training time for machine learning and opens new avenues for software development, particularly those using annotated images for object detection and classification.
Features of the Lambda Labs Quad include:
- Four RTX 2080Ti GPUs
- Quicker algorithm training and retraining time
- More efficient timetables for AI models, enabling deployment in simulation or in the field
- AI tasks completed nearly six times faster than single-GPU machine

Vendor highlight: Ibeo Automotive
|

Ibeo Automotive Systems, a
global leader
for LiDAR sensor technology and long-time partner of AutonomouStuff, has expanded its reach in North America. To best position itself in the evolving HAD/ADAS world, Ibeo established Ibeo Automotive USA, Inc, in Detroit, Michigan, in June, with a team led by President Paula Jones.
But that's not even close to all that is new with Ibeo Automotive!
Ibeo’s new release reference system,
Ibeo.Reference 2019
, is a significant upgrade to the evaluation suite, providing better detection in lane tracking as well as improved dynamic and stationary object tracking. Other improvements include onboard tagging during test drives, wireless ECU connection, and precision time protocol.
Primarily, customers use the tool chain for validation of vehicle vision systems, such as Radar, camera, and LiDAR systems. AutonomouStuff is the preferred supplier for integration of Ibeo.Reference 2019, in addition to being the preferred installer of the
ScaLa Fusion System
, Ibeo's object detection system that uses laser scanners.
Ibeo’s biggest news: to have prototype samples of
true solid state LiDAR available in 2020
. Its modular concept will support a wide range of applications from ADAS to AD with 4D output and 3D point cloud. It is small, light-weight and can be
adapted to customers’ needs
.
"Ibeo stands out in a crowd of LiDAR suppliers with proven technology as it is already in volume production for an automotive OEM in Europe, has 400 employees dedicated to perception and automated driving technology development, and is winning innovation and workplace awards in Germany. I feel privileged to be leading the operations in the U.S. and am encouraged by the early positive market reception here," said Jones.
At AutonomouStuff, we're looking forward everything new coming from Ibeo Automotive USA! Check out their products on our
Ibeo page.
