Tier IV robotaxi debut powered by Autoware and PACMod 3.0 System
Tier IV's robot taxi — developed using Autoware, the world's first open-source software for autonomous driving technology, and powered by the PACMod drive-by-wire system from Hexagon | AutonomouStuff — has successfully completed its first round of live testing with passengers in Tokyo.
Bobby Hambrick, Chief Autonomous Officer of Hexagon's Autonomy and Positioning division, commended the successful deployment of an Autoware-operated autonomous vehicle enabled by the PACMod 3.0 System as a significant milestone for safer mobility in Tokyo and autonomous vehicle technology all over the world.
"The autonomous taxi that Tier IV is deploying in Tokyo has the potential to change lives all over Japan by delivering on the promise autonomy technology holds for safer, less congested, more convenient travel," Hambrick said. "I couldn't be prouder to work with Tier IV and the Autoware Foundation on this remarkable achievement."
Be sure to check out the full press release to learn more details, and stay tuned for further developments!

Giving back in style: Movember
Team AutonoMustache sprung back into action this Movember to support men's health with the most masculine facial fashion accessory (and some very long walks for the 'stache-challenged participants).
The annual assemblage of luxurious upper lips and ambitious movement goals at AutonomouStuff every November is one way we try to give back to the communities where we work and live.
It's not too late to support Team AutonoMustache — the event continues through the end of the day on Nov. 30 — and you can make a donation right here!

Tractor platform demo highlights off-road autonomy ambitions
We teamed up with our long-time collaborators at NovAtel — we're both part of Hexagon's Autonomy and Positioning division — to build an autonomous tractor that could demonstrate the far-reaching potential of autonomy and positioning kits for off-road applications. And now we're showing it off!
Check out this video featuring Lee Baldwin, our Segment Director for Core Autonomy, showing just how accurate we can be when it comes to precision agriculture. Or take a 3D tour of the tractor.
