Each ticket is $1.00. Tickets are being sold after the worship service each week. The chairpersons of the raffle are Nancy Nyvold and Judy Kirchoff.

During the announcements during the worship service on Sunday, July 12, the "Two Chicks with Tickets," Nancy Nyvold and Judy Kirchoff involved the congregation in promoting the raffle with a song that they had created about the raffle.

REMINDER – Help is needed for a Meal With a Mission on August 2^nd.  Monies from the event will help with necessary purchases for the Bazaar.  There will be yellow sign up sheets the next two Sunday's included with the bulletin.  Just include them with your welcome slip and offering in the basket up front when you receive communion.

ATTENTION ALL LEFSE CHEFS!  Please let me or Patty know if you would be willing to make lefse to sell at the Bazaar.  It can be made over a period of time, then frozen and stored in the ILC's freezer at church.  If a group of you would like to use ILC's kitchen to gather in fellowship to make the tasty treat, that can be arranged.

PINE WREATHS – A Team Captain is needed for the wreath making project this year for the Bazaar.  You will have lots of help!  Please prayerfully consider leading a team of hard working wreath crafters.  Having pine wreaths for sale is a big fundraiser for the Bazaar.  Please give Carol Pundt (218-678-3256 land line) or Patty Kahnert (612-385-2927) a phone call.  Also, Sandy Davis (218-838-9675) would be happy to answer any questing you may have.

The July Meal With A Mission on July 5 benefited Don and Judi Hendrickson who recently lost their home in a fire. They were present at the meal and were also presented two quilts that were made by Immanuel's Quilters.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this Meal With A Mission. It was a great success!

The August Meal With A Mission will be on August 2 and will benefit Immanuel's Spirit of Christmas Bazaar. Monies from this event will help with the necessary purchases to defray costs needed for coffee, apple cider, baking supplies, caramel/cinnamon rolls for sale at the Bazaar and advertising. 

The Buildings and Grounds Committee recently finished phase two of the septic system upgrade at the Parsonage. After digging and laying thick foam insulation over the septic system to prevent another freeze-up at the Parsonage, it was necessary to lay new black dirt and grass seed. 

Butch Burgstaler, Wade Burlet, Denny Henrichs, Joe McNally and Dan Wisniak are to be commended for their dedication and labor. Thanks, men for all you do!

At a Special Congregation meeting held on Sunday, July 12, members voted overwhelmingly to purchase the vacant ‘ballfield’ lot to the south of our parking lot.  Of the 106 voting members in attendance, 104 voted yes and two voted against purchasing the lot.

An Immanuel Forward Property Committee of ten Immanuel Lutheran Church (ILC) members had been working together since mid-May, when Father Eli, from St. Joseph Church, reached out to ILC, offering a first option to buy the lot.  The committee put together an informative presentation and purchase proposal, which was presented at the Special Congregation Meeting.  

The proposal included a plan to utilize a special 5.65% second mortgage loan, using equity in the rental property we own, for approximately $75,000 to pay for the $90,000 lot plus closing costs.  The remaining gap, of approximately $19,000, would be covered by using $10,000 from our Fidelity Memorial Investment Account and a generous anonymous $10,000 private donation.

That financial proposal would simply expand the first mortgage and allow the new lot to be owned free and clear. 

The congregation has shown strong support by quickly paying down the mortgage on the Don Kehl property we purchased last fall. That same continued support and rent will adequately cover the financial needs of the rental house and the newly purchased property.
