Manna For Malawi
by Terri Wisniak

The orphan project is struggling to provide food for the children. The cost of maize, beans, and soya meat has increased greatly in the past few months. Maize has increased from $29/bag to $49/bag since October. At least 3 bags of maize are used each day as well as a bag of beans or soya meat. The daily meal now costs at least $80 more than we anticipated which means there is a shortfall of at least $480 each week.
The above paragraph was taken from the Facebook page of Malawi Orphan Care Project, Inc. Yami posted this in February and has a link for anyone to donate.

In our last meeting for Manna for Malawi, we agreed on a band called Gigfoot, a 4 piece group of seasoned musicians who love playing live. Rock ‘n Roll to Country 70’s-Now. Our event will be at ILC on Saturday, August 23rd from 2 to 6pm. Now that we have a band, there is a lot of advertising that can be done. Our next meeting is Thursday, April 24th at 5:15. Please join us if you can help.
Silent Auction info from Amy LaPierre: I am excited to be overseeing the silent auction for Mana for Malawi! We are starting to plan for this year's event and are in need of silent auction items. Please reach out to me at Amylp18@outlook.com if you have any items you would like to donate.

Family Ministry

Spring is in the air!
In Children's Ministry...
Sunday School is held each Sunday through May 18th, and releases from the service immediately after communion. This allows families to worship together and gives parents time to stay and fellowship after service. Children ages 4-12 are invited to Sunday School! We continue to learn with the congregation through the "Believe" series.
| |
Attention all 5th Graders! It's that time of the year where we help prepare you for your first communion! Please reach out to the church office, or Jill DeCent to express interest. Preparation sessions will be had prior to first communion, which is taken on Maundy Thursday during service.

In Confirmation/Youth...
Students are engaging in Wednesday night activities through the Lent season, via Soup Suppers with mentors, helping with clean-up, then attending services and having Faith Talks with mentors following each service. This is a nice tradition, where students both grow in their faith journey, as well as connect with an adult mentor whom they continue a relationship with in the future. Regular Wednesday evening youth activities resume April 23rd. Stay tuned, as we prepare our youth for Paul and Jill to depart, as well as get ready for Summer programming!
