Temperatures are climbing, flowers are blooming and many Ohio schools will soon be letting out for summer recess. Before we turn the calendar to June, I wanted to give thanks for a wonderful spring and for the many Ohioans we met during our visits to Lorain, Toledo, Canton, Youngstown, Cleveland, Athens, Marietta, Dayton, Marysville, Dublin, Heath, Newark, Delaware and so many other great cities and villages across our state.
We also enjoyed attending Earth Month and Arbor Day activities in New Albany, Johnstown, Granville, Lewis Center, Powell and Columbus. These events were meaningful to us because Intel has been a leader in sustainable semiconductor manufacturing for decades, and Ohio One now joins our sites around the world in working towards Intel’s ambitious global sustainability commitments.
These goals, along with our 2030 RISE Strategy, are published in our Corporate Responsibility Report. This includes our commitment to increasing global annual spending with diverse suppliers to $2 billion by 2030. We are proud to share we reached $2.2 billion in diverse supplier spending in 2022, eight years ahead of schedule.
Intel is on a mission is to build a more diverse and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem and is committed to using role mole standards to build and operate the Ohio One campus. Earlier this month, we launched a new scholarship opportunity for Ohio high school girls studying for an Associate degree relevant to the semiconductor manufacturing industry. This program, along with our other education investments, will help bolster a diverse homegrown talent pipeline.
In closing, I am pleased to share our ongoing construction milestones. Over the last few weeks, our construction team and partners have been pouring thousands of cubic yards of concrete for our future fabs right here in the Silicon Heartland. We are excited about this progress and proud to be part of this epicenter of leading-edge technology that is expected to create 3,000 high-tech jobs and tens of thousands of additional long-term jobs across a broad ecosystem of suppliers and partners.
