I sit down to write this on what has turned out to be one of the coldest days of the new year. Temperatures dropped to the mid-teens in the early hours of the morning, and the forecast is calling for more of the same this weekend. The icy cold days and nights of January - even in South Carolina - are particularly difficult on the most vulnerable in our society. Those without adequate housing, dependable sources of food, or the nurturing care of a loving family can find the winter months to be the most painful. And it is often the case that those who suffer the most are children. But at SECH we exist to take care of and minister to those vulnerable children; it is what we do each and every day. If you are receiving this email, it is because you are a part of our ministry, a ministry that serves the most vulnerable - during the cold of January, the heat of July, and everything in between. Thank you for helping make this work possible!
